A Test Of Love (Part Three)

Odysseus stared at Athena. He survived the Labrynth. He was the victor. He was the husband of the Princess of Olympus.

Cheers surrounded them, but it felt like it was only them there. They help eye contact the entire time, never letting it go. It felt as if the whole world relied on their eye contact.

“Why?” She whispered. “Why do all this?” Her voice was only between them. It was only them here. This moment was only for them.

“I wanted to prove you wrong.” Odysseus said. “I wanted to prove that I wasn’t weak.”

She laughed quietly. “Congrats, hero. You’ve made it this far.”

Athena’s words hit his heart. She didn’t believe he was here for her. He only meant to explain why he came here. That wasn’t the only reason, just why he came across the sea.

“Athena, don’t do that. You know bloody well why I really came here.” Athena could hear his anger rising. She was angry though. He had come to her kingdom, competed in her competition, and became her fiance. How _dare_ he?

“Athena!” He gripped her hand and she swung backward, ready to punch him. Then, before she could register anything, his lips were on hers. He kissed her with fire and passion that she had never known had been there.

She pressed her lips back against his soft ones and then pushed him off. He stumbled back a bit. She punched him in the face, her fist connecting with his jaw so violently that it knocked a tooth out.

“And that’s how me and your mom got engaged.” King Odysseus told his children, Perseus and Medusa.
