I Once Had A Heart
I once had a heart.
It was broken
And torn
And worn by many
But it was mine.
You once asked if I could love you.
I said I could
And maybe I would
But you misunderstood.
There once was a time, when I bared you my heart.
And you tore it
And wore it
Like a mask for your fears.
I now ask for my heart back.
But you lock it away
As I beg and I gasp
It’s not yours to take
But nevertheless you rip it from my grasp.
