Can I extend trust?

You know my hesitation.

Will you let me down?

Show me how I can dive in,

My only friend and lover....

All I hear is noise on this chilly Friday morn,

Waking up and being greeted by wonderful car horns;

Do these obnoxious sounds sometimes bring music to my ears?

Or have I just been lonely so long I’m numb to all my tears?...

I was 15 when my world became so small,

Girls and fame and fortune, that’s all.

So quickly they came and even quicker they went,

Fading as fast as eyes come to a squint.

Why was life so pointless and self-centered?

All while I was seeking to help others and mentor.

The hypocrisy seeped out of my veins like blood,

Surrounding my thoughts and feelings as a flood.

But I know who I am and who I was ...

His little girl’s safety was priority number one. The waves kept crashing into the sides of the canoe, yet he could still hear her little cries. As long as her sounds were ringing into his ears everything was okay. The native people knew he was coming today, but for some reason they didn’t accept our arrival. Hopefully this time they hold their arrows back. Weaving left and right between the rocks...

Silence is the sound of your thoughts when everything around you goes quiet....

I lay there.

Gasping for air.

Did we make it?

I feel her hand grasp mine so tight.

Comfortable and safe.

We are okay.

Everything inside of me trying to forget the last 24 hours.

The adventure feels like a dream.

Maybe a nightmare?

No matter what, it was worth it with her.

In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take....
