Robbin slowly walked into the room of the new Titian. He walked over to her and sat on her bed, as he looked at her.
“You called me in here with your communicator?” He asked, placing his hand on hers. Looking up at him, her eyes had been blood shot. She couldn’t keep it in anymore. “What up, Addy?” He asked. Addison looked down, not wanting to say a thing. Hesitating, the green haired girl spoke.
“He found out, Dick… he finally found out that I am a hero. That I chose good,” she spoke, feeling her hot tears flooding her eyes again. “My father saw us on the news.” Robin had known Addison had been a child of abuse, knowing that she had been given her powers the same way as the jokers skin was changed. But he just thought it was because of something he hadn’t wanted to think about. When she flew to the tower, begging to become a titan, he had to test and make sure she was loyal. Of course she passed. Though she was a year younger than him, he had thought of her as an older sister with the way she acted.
“Addy… you said your parents had died? Why are you just now telling me this?” He spoke, though his voice was strict, he pulled her into a side hug.
“I lied because… I never thought you would let someone who’s father had killed before into the titans… who had battled Batman, and kidnapped a Robin before,” she spoke, laying her head on the boys shoulder. The girls pale white skin had clashed with the back of his sleeves. Shaking his head, he frowned at her. He rested his chin on her fluffy green hair.
“That doesn’t matter. You aren’t him Addy. You are a lot stronger than him, and sane.” Sighing, he took her hand with his free one. “If he comes, and tries to take you, we will protect you. You are our family. Not his. With all of us, the joker won’t know what will hit him.” Addison nodded, and looked up at Robin with a smile. The boy soon took his mask off, and looked down at her. “I won’t let him hurt you.” The two sat together for a while, Addison feeling a bit better than before she had received the letter.
I’ve been passed down, over many generations. But I have a different life with ever person who loves me. When I was in position of miss Emma, we traveled a thing she called the Oregon Trail and I watched her defeat a terrible sickness. She got older, keeping me with her in every step. She even had me on her wedding day, a reminder of her mother. When she had her first daughter in 1855, I was given to Jenna. Though I was covered in baby snot and drool, I loved it. That was until around Jenna’s fifteenth birthday. Jenna would take me everywhere, even to school. Then she met Johnny. Johnny wasn’t a boy, and I was sort of a secret keeper for Jenna. She told me everything. But Jenna eventually graduated high school and went to college to become a nurse. She took me to the university. I was passed to her daughter, and to the next three first daughters. As we flash forward to today, I have been patched up and restuffed more than I can count. I guess that is what I learned to love. I now sit on a bed, in a baby’s room, awaiting my new owner. I watch as my old owner, Lilly, and her wife walk into the room. They are holding a new born, and he is in a blue blanket. I have never been best friends with a boy, but I am extremely excited to see what waits ahead.
I had finally done it! I had finally created my first cure… however the side effects, those were something one would never want. The cure was for all sickness. Now I don’t test on animals. Never will I ever harm an animal. Not unless they are on death row. I had gotten permission by a prison in Vermont, to test on the ones who murdered and ‘harmed’ children. My first test only paralyzed the men, next it killed a few. But soon it was a success… that was until every man I tried it on blew up. As I went to rid of it… it had somehow gotten into the water supply of Vermont. Men all over started to blow up. In the shower, the bed room, at church. This was all to much. As if it could get any worse, they tested the water, finding my DNA in it. It was all over the news. Head lines read: MAD SCIENTIST POISONS WATER, WORSE THAN DAHMER. I was soon arrested, being placed in permanent solitary confinement. No male guard would be placed on my case. This was something I could have never imagined. I had never felt like a failure… but that was the whole purpose right. I got rid of the main people who put me through hell.
When my sister was born, momma never let me see her. Said she was the devil. Momma took care of her until she was able to bathe and take care of herself. When she was seven, momma locked her away. I could hear her pleadin from the attic all night and day.
“It’s too hot, momma,” she cried durrin the summer. To cold during the winter. All she had was a cot and a blanket. Momma only fed her durin dinner. She got bread and milk. That was, until momma been bed ridden. She was the only one who knew where the key was. She wouldn’t tell me, and soon the cries at night… they’d just stop commin. I did pray for my sister, even when I was a youngin. The day I moved back into momma’s old house, that was the day I realized that my baby sister never left. The milk would spoil when I brought it in, and the bread would rot. A few years passed and I had two twin girls. They looked like her. As I walked into ones bed room, I seen her drawin a picture. I asked her who she had been drawing. The girl was sad, looked like she had only skin and bone. The words my child spoke, I’ll never forget.
“It’s me when I lived here before. Remember momma? This is what I looked like when I died.”
