At twilight it crawls out of the depths of the earth. It’s long tail whips as it reaches the surface to set any potential prey in the area running, it loves the chase. It’s short and stubby little face looks like those creatures that roam the savanna laughing at their kill but it’s body, that is slim and long and faster than anything else in the realm. It’s razor sharp teeth is enough to shorten anything’s life span and it’s claws could cut through a fully grown tree.
‘Today is the day, I have to do this. I don’t have a choice anymore, she deserves to know.’ I tell myself as I pull the mask over my face and jump from my bedroom window. —— I arrived on her balcony moments later panting half from the swing over and half from nerves. I gulped down my anxiety as I tapped on the glass door and took a few steps back.. “Hey Jos-“ She looked at me and tilted her head slightly in confusion. “Can I help you? Is something wrong?” I rubbed the back of my neck and took a breath again, “No. Nothing is wrong I just had to tell you something.” “Me? I’m a little confused” she leaned on the door way crossing her arms. “Don’t get mad.. please.” I grabbed the back of my mask and began to pull. “Why would I be-“ I stood before her with my blonde hair ruffled and mask in my hand. “So THIS is why you had to cancel dinner last night?” She smiled. I’d never felt so much relief. “Sorry?” I took a step towards her. She pushed off the door frame and took a step towards me. “Well” I shot a web at her hip and pulled her closer “you’re not mad?” “I love a man in uniform.” She threw her arms around my neck and kissed me. I was so shocked I forgot to close my eyes for a moment. She began to move her hands down my arms and before I could catch on she snatched the mask right out of my hands. She ran to the other side of the balcony and put the mask on her head. “Hey! You little thief, give that back!” I launched two webs at her hands pinning them to the wall behind her. I walked to her and pulled the mask up just high enough to reveal her lips and kissed her again. “Nice try” I said into her mouth, then I pulled the mask the rest of the way off leaving her hands pinned. “I smell something tasty, did you order pizza?” I started taking backwards steps toward the door. “Hey! Wait! Where are you going?” She was trying to pull away from the webs. “I’m pretty sure that’s pizza,” standing at the door way, “ah, there it is! I knew it was pizza!” I side stepped into the door out of her sight. “Josh! You can not be serious. Get me out of these!” I could hear are pulling at the webs again, “and don’t touch that pizza!”
“There is nothing left for me here, everyone that I love is gone. I’m alone in a country that isn’t mine and I have no where left to go except back to my home.” I rasped through my tears. “Not everyone, I’m still here and I promise I will be by your side through it all.” He wrapped his arm around my waist and stroked my hair with the other. “No.” I pulled away to look into his piercing blue eyes. “I have to go alone. I can not put your life in danger. You have so many people here that you must protect I can not ask you to abandon them.. no matter how much I wish for you to join me.” “Okay, I’ll stay. But only until it is safe here. As soon as I get an opportunity to leave, I will. I will rush to your side, even if I can not have you I will do everything in my power to protect you.” His eyes began to water as he bent down on one knee taking my hands in his, “I promise I will survive whatever is coming and I will come for you.” Nodding my head and wiping my tears I walked to my horse but before I reached her I was spun around and our lips met. For the first time in over a year I kissed the man I truly loved not afraid of who might see, because I was leaving and he was staying. I pulled away resting my forehead against his wishing I could stay here forever.
(Took inspiration from my favorite scene in a tv show)
..It was cold and too quiet, not even the trees dared to make a sound. I was not alone even though I could not see anything or anyone, so I tied up my amber red hair and continued on my journey. I had almost reached the top of the mountain to the overlook I desperately needed to find home when a shadow swallowed the light from around me. I heard it then, a strong sound that could only be the flapping of massive wings. I stopped to look up at the dragon swallowing the fear in my chest but a loud thud came from in front of me. “Hello beautiful, Everyone is looking for you.” The dark figure said as he removed his hood to reveal golden blonde hair and icy blue eyes. “Please.. I just want to get home.” He looked me head to toe back to head again, “I’m sure Vix could get you there faster.” The dragon, who I assume is Vix, landed not far from where we stood. “Let me give you a ride.” He extended his hand towards me. “Thank you but I was doing just fine on my own.” I said has I gathered my skirt and started to walk past him. “Well, I tried” before I could take another step he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder.
