Oh man. Oh man, I’m gonna be late! I better hurry. Keyes? Check. Wallet? Check. Phone? Check. Let’s go! I run to my car. Hop on the highway, and before I know it I’m stuck in traffic. Huh, must’ve been a bad accident. Finally we start to move again. Then bam! Flat tire! Could this get any worse? Man, I shouldn’t have said that. I better knock on some wood. But it was indeed too late. My spare was also flat! After waiting for the tow truck for what had to have been hours, I was back on the road once again. Just a little detour to a junkyard to get me a tire. And a spare. I’m not going to get this job. I can already feel it. But I still make it to the interview. I tried apologizing but they didn’t wanna hear it. I mean I get it. It does sound like a whole buncha bullshit. Luckily, some nice older gentleman hears all of this and introduces himself as the CEO of the company. He apologizes on behalf of his staff that he will be taking a look into better and offered me not the position I went to the interview for, no. He offered me a pay grade above the lady that yelled at me and made a whole scene out of it. Karmas a bitch, ain’t it?
There was a boy who lived next to a girl all his childhood. They were best friends. They even shared the same birthday. And on their 18th birthday the boy confessed his love for her. “I will always love you.” She falls into his arms and they share a kiss. Their first of many to come. Fast forward to their first fight: After cooling down, he takes her hand, looks in her eyes and says “I will always love you.” She smiled then leaned in to kiss him. Suddenly whatever they were fighting about seemed so small compared to the love they had for one another. On their wedding day: After she walks down the isle to him, with tears in his eyes, he mouths those 5 words. “I will always love you.”
Taylor and Jesse were together for 4 months before their very first argument. Some say that’s a good thing, so say it’s bad. They very rarely argued but when they did, it got heated very quickly. One of the very last things they did as a couple was argue. Taylor’s friends never liked Jesse and would always fill her head with crazy things that were just not true. If Jesse was being a little shady or something her friends didn’t like, it would always lead to he was cheating. She accused him several times on several different occasions. The last thing Taylor ever said to Jesse was “Yeah go see your side piece.” as Jesse was walking out of the house. He was fed up with all the accusations so he decided to just go out for a little while. But because he was so upset, he wasn’t looking when he crossed the street to his car and boom! Jesse got hit by a car. Taylor heard the commotion outside and quickly opened the door to see Jesse on the ground, bleeding out. She quickly ran to him. “Jesse! Nooooo! Please God no. I love you. You’re gonna be ok. Someone call 9-1-1.” Before the ambulance could get there, Jesse was gone.
I start the day like any other I pick up the phone to call my mother Hi baby how are you today she asks I’m fine mom. I just don’t wanna wear this mask Then I look outside and what I see is terrifying Flames everywhere; People screaming I scream and mom asks what’s the matter I couldn’t help myself and got even sadder Everything’s in flames mom what do I do You gotta run honey and start over new But mom my life is here I don’t want to leave This is where I met Steve There’s nothing left for you there; now come home And I’ll help you get everything set in stone
There once was a poet Who didn’t even know it But was good with his words Or so I heard He would rhyme without even trying Sometimes he would even start crying He was handsome and tall That all the girls would fall For him Let me go out on a limb He was the best poet out there And he didn’t even care
It was late July in 1988 when I received the news. My best friend from summer camp, Mikayla, died. I didn’t know who or why or how but all I could do was reminisce about the times we shared as kids. Then it hit me, I will be the one to find out these answers. Who killed her? Why? How? I will reveal it all. Why you may ask? It’s simple of course. It was me. I killed Mikayla.
Leaving is never easy. And the day I had to say goodbye to my mother forever was the worst day of my life. Our relationship was rocky but in the end she tried making ammends. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish she was here. I just had a baby a month and a half prior to her passing. So that wasn’t easy either. 2018 was a terrible year. Yeah, I had my first born. Then my mom dies. Then I got married. Then my grandmother on my dads side died. Real shit show of a year.
Let me tell you a little bit about the day the lights went out, for good. It was April of 2403. The townspeople of Dragonfly thought it was going to be like any other day they’ve had before. But boy were they wrong. And before they knew it, their lives would be changed forever. When it hit 5pm, the lights would come on, on the street. But they didnt. 5:30pm still no lights. But it wasn’t getting darker either. Fast forward to 10pm and still no lights on but still bright outside. The townspeople worried what was going on but they just went to bed and figured maybe tomorrow it will be different.
