Cassie and her dog Captain were strolling through the forest behind their house. Cassie loved to go there and snuggle up with a good book, and Captain loves to chase the butterflies. Cassie put on the blue leash on Captain’s collar, attaching it with a small steel clip. She held the leash in her hand and sprinted through the forest with a bag full of Ant Man Story books and buttery dog biscuits for Captain. Captain was ahead of her and sat next to the tree where Cassie always sat next to and where the butterflies always roamed. Unfortunately, there was no butterflies to chase! Cassie patted Captain’s head and picked him up and put him in his lap. “You can read with me, Captain!” She said. She opened her bag. There was nothing but Captain’s biscuits! “Oh shoot I forgot to pack my books!” She exclaimed. Suddenly, a blue and green butterfly sprinted across the air. Captain barked and leaped from Cassie’s lap! He ran after the butterfly leaving Cassie behind. “Captain!” She yelled. She got up and ran after Captain her bag flinging of her shoulder. Captain barked like crazy and he was running as fast as the speed of light! Soon, Captain disappeared into the depths of the forest. He was gone!
Cassie was out of breath. She lied against a tree catching her breath. She couldn’t believe Captain was gone! Suddenly she heard a distant bark! ”Ruff!” She got back in her feet yelling, “CAPTAIN! KEEP BARKING!” Suddenly she said to a stop. She saw a opening to a beautiful tunnel! The sunlight was bright shining towards it, and it was surrounded with green trees, shrubs, bushes, and even had a wall, with moss growing. Captain tugged on Cassie’s leg like, “What the heck is this!? Where did this come from?!” Cassie picked up Captain and slowly began to walk toward the tunnel. She knew inside that, something, someone, was calling her to go.
Royalty’s Way Is sometimes good or bad. It can make you dance or sway, But sometimes you turn and are mad.
The good meaning usually you get everything your way, When you can dance with princes, and dance the night away. Sweet treats almost everyday, A strawberry ice cream cone whenever you say.
The bad meaning you might be forced to do, Stuff you would never might think, stuff you may think was untrue. Wearing uncomfortable puffy gowns, One that would make you frown.
Overall being a princess or prince could be bad or good, But take my advice: CHOOSE.
I wanted an adventure from these boring days of quarantine. I wanted to greet 2021 with a warm welcome: sky-diving. 2020 sucked, we all have to admit that. The coronavirus, the deaths, the losses of many beloveds. So me and my southern friend, Walker, who’s a pilot, offered to fly the jet for my sky-diving expedition. So here we are, me in my orange jumpsuit that kinda looks from jail, but I promise it isn’t, and Walker bossing me around. “Okay, so ya know,ya press this button to launch the parachute, you following? And then boom da boom you’ve got ya self a parachute.” He says in is southern accent. “Ok!” I answered. I look down and my heart beings to beat fast, but not from fear, excitement! Walker interrupted my thoughts with a slap on the back. Ouch, I thought. “You ready?” “Yep.” “Ok remember the rules.” “I do.” I responded. “You repeated them 53 times.” He laughed, gave me another hard slap (which made my back sore) and said one simple word that may ruin my life. “Jump!”
I jumped with my eyes open, shielded from my clear goggles! The rush of adrenaline was way better than the rush of adrenaline when my Papa Johns order delivered. I gave a Texas style “WHOOP” dedicated to Walker. I was almost going to die if I didn’t do my parachute button. “Click this here red button right next to your arm on your colorful jumpsuit to activate the button.” Walker had told me. I pressed the button, waiting to launch the parachute and view the land more better. But nothing happened. I pressed the button again and again, but the parachute wasn’t opening! It broke! I was going to die!
I woke up a few hours later in a warm room filled with sunlight and the smell of cinnamon biscuits. I tried getting up but immediately regretted it. My head throbbed, my arm was broken, and my legs felt numb. “Parker? You okay?” I heard a familiar voice say. It was Walker. “What...what am I doing here?” I said wearily. “Your parachute was not working but luckily you fell into a lake.” Walker said with sadness in his voice. “I’m lucky to be alive,” I responded. He gave me a small pat on the back, which felt kinda weird. He said, “Rest buddy. You are going to need it.” “Maybe next year!” I said sarcastically. “Maybe next year buddy.”
Dina stood out of her red barn door. She wore a yellow mustard color jacket that made her pop from the snow and other children. There was not a child in sight, it was only Dina. The soft snowflakes flew on her coat and her face, and she giggled. But soon her face fell, knowing she was left out from the kids from school again. She sat down on the white blanket of snow and peered out on the Winter day. Dina’s cheeks became red, and it was time to go back. Her heart dropped, as she waited for hours and hours for a child to come play. But as soon as she opened the door, she heard a faint voice. “Oi mate!”it called. A little boy about Dina’s age was running towards her. “What were you doing just sitting there??” He asked. Dina blushed. “I didn’t have anyone to play with.” She murmured. “Then play with me, ay?” Dina smiled and picked up a lump of snow. She modeled it to a ball and threw it at the boy! He giggled and did the same. That’s when a new friendship began. For three more hours, they threw snowballs at each other, made snow angels, and made a snowman. They were sitting admiring the snowman when the little boy said, “Its really cold, ay mate?” “Yes mate.” She replied. She took his hand and dragged him in the barn. “By the way,” he said. “The name’s Sam. Yours?” She giggled and replied, “Dina.” They climbed up the big red chairs near the fireplace and slurped on their hot cocoa with whipped cream and marshmallows. Dina thought, “This is the best Winter ever.”
