The chest was ordinary. The lock long broken. When I opened it a musty smell escaped, let wet forest floor. Inside there were acorns and different collections of moss. A small stone with a hole neatly through the centre. Under the moss, very carefully placed, a set of the most iridescent wings….I guess the stories were true…...
Spring.
Growth spurts are a thing now…starting to feel a bit green around the edges…
Summer.
Can’t believe how tall I am!! And covered in things now! It’s amazing!
Autumn.
Very windy isn’t it… going through a bald phase…
Winter.
Some cousins went missing today…. I heard loud noises and the ground shook for a long time… I feel scared now…...
Opening the cupboard,
Jars of jam, Tins of soup,
Pasta shapes and lentils,
And the odd spaghetti hoop.
Tea bags, an assortment,
Jar of coffee, ovaltine,
But I am looking, searching,
And so far have not yet seen.
A packet of digestives,
Some forgotten shredded wheat,
Still no finding what I’m after,
Something gooey, something sweet.
He’s hidden it, the chocolate,
Somewhere lurking out of sight,...
The snow was deep. The car was stuck again. The blizzard was raging. She was walking along the snow bank trying to see if anyone was coming when suddenly she disappeared!
