“i never was an early riser” the moon proclaimed. when things get too bright, i hide till the night when my friends can see me in all of my might.
“i never was a night owl” the sun exclaimed. when things get too dark, i hide till i can reembark when the morning starts and i can boast my spark.
“opposites attract” the gods acclaimed. on the one night a year, when two worlds aflame.
the sun and the moon come together, side by side, like husband and bride, no need to hide.
“the lunar eclipse”, they cried.
you never asked but, without you, im doing fine yet im running out of time as i pair my foods with wine, wishing you were mine as i step out of line and speak another rhyme as i’m being punished for a crime that was never mine to do time for.
and you never asked but, because of you, that shine in my eyes that you once spoke of as divine has been lost over time without those words you used to define me as. so now i sit alone and redesign my room so i can not pine at the shrine of what was yours and never mine.
beneath the moon breathtaking bells ring as they sway their blossoming petals to the song the bird’s sing
blundering bees join along in singing their song together in peace and harmony
the song goes silent the petals retire their excitement the bees go to sleep till the morn when the sun and the sky meet
