The worst assignment.
So hard to write the right alignment.
Hmm.
An abundance of confusing words.
Old-fashioned phrases I’ve never heard.
Bruh.
Too much feeling.
Old men from years ago concealing
Hidden messages between each line,
Playing mean tricks on the mind.
You know,
With my vocabulary
That’s pretty much limited to “what the sigma,”
Poetry is a complete enigma....
Slipping behind the green mountain peaks
An ever changing display
A sight to be treasured, a memory to keep
Slowly fading away
Desert skies put on a dazzling finale
The cloudless sky is ablaze
Then the very last delicate sliver of sunshine
Gathers its golden rays
It shuts its eyes and nods to sleep
The moon comes out to play
And the stars waltz and tango and leap
As the early bird awaits ...

With their giggles.
Their tight, trendy clothes.
With their smirks.
Their gossip.
Their rumors.
And the boys!
It’s like they’re trophies, not humans.
“Let’s date!”
(1 week later)
“Actually, you’re not good enough. We’re breaking up.”
(Another week)

(Starts flirting with another guy)

This traveling medicine man

Yes, he did use medicine
to heal his sick and injured patients

was his warm wise smile, and everlasting patience
