Sylvia Baker was the mother of Julian Baker who arrived in Tree Hill to help Brooke and Julian plan their wedding. She had been described as a monster in law and had a bad relationship with Brooke but shortly before the wedding their relationship improved and was friend’s with Brooke’s mother Victoria. She was also the grandmother of Julian and Brooke’s twin sons Jude and Davis Baker. During her childhood Sylvia Baker was best friend of Melissa. Their friendship was similar at the friendship of Brooke Davis Sylvia’s daughter in law and her best friend Peyton Sawyer Scott. Sylvia was married to Paul Norris and together they had a son Julian Andrew Norris. Julian admired the magic fade away as his mother started to feel unloved due to Paul’s involvement in his work. When his mother sunk into a despression and Julian was unable to save her this prompted him to develop a complex about saving people which would affect his relationships with Peyton Sawyer,Brooke Davis and Alex Dupré. With his close relationship to his mother and distant relationship with his father Julian took on his mother’s surname. Sylvia appeared for the first time the day of Halloween. She introduced to Brooke in asking her candy. Brooke doesn’t know her and noted her that she too old for that. Then Sylvia asks where was her son and Brooke understand that she was Julian’s mother. She later offered to pay for the entire wedding but began to give unwanted opinions caused tension with Brooke. Eventually they reconciled and Sylvia formed a friendship with Brooke’s mother Victoria. She was married to Paul Norris but they have divorced due Paul’s several absent in Sylvia and Julian’s life. Sylvia has a very good relationship with her son Julian. So she saw her new daughter in law like a rival and they have a mixed relationships Brooke accusing Sylvia to nurse her son. But their relationships was improved during Brooke’s bachelorette party. Through her son and daughter in law Sylvia has two grandsons Davis and Jude Baker who live with their parents in Tree Hill so she can’t see them often. She is good friends with Brooke’s mother Victoria.

In Pilot West considers himself the most prepared rookie officer in the history of LAPD. He appears to have most penal codes and procedures memorized. His father Percy West is also the head of internal affairs in the LAPD. He is assigned to Lopez as his training officer and he initially struggles with firing his weapon as he is afraid of doing so. Lopez covers for him when Captain Anderson asks him why he didn’t fire his weapn as she doesn’t want to be blamed for his failure. In the switch West is assigned to Bradford who learns of his struggles when he freezes during a shootout. Bradford angrily confronts Lopez as she let him go on patrol with a broken rookie. Bradford later takes West to a man who has not left his apartment since a hate crime occurred against him and the man helps West overcome his fears. West later saves Bradford’s life during a shootout at a supermarket involving a several drug dealers impressing Bradford. In redwood West is estranged from his mother as she has never forgiven him for choosing the job over his family. In heartbreak he meets a nurse named Gino Brown with whom he later is shown in a relationship. They later break up in the shake up after having several disagreements. In caught stealing it’s obvious that West sticks to the letter of the law rather than the spirit Lopez schools him on them being more flexible. In manhunt a prisoner tells h Jackson that he knew Percy West years ago and that Percy messed with evidence in order to get the prisoner convicted. Jackson doesn’t believe him but when he confronts his father in homefront the latter says he did what had to do and Jackson rejects Percy’s excuses. In free fall West makes up with Percy as Percy sees how brave he was when he and Lopez cornered and killed terrorist Mitchell after Mitchell threatened to expose everyone on the bus to the deadly virus. In season two West received his score on the midterm exam and is dismayed to find it close to failing. As a result Grey tells West that he’ll still be supervised and subject to daily reports until grey is satisfied with his performance. This also means he will have to return to wearing long sleeves. In the night general West’s landlord is arrested on drug charges and West must find a new place to live in short order. After he’s endured a couple of undesirable options Chen comes to his rescue and they become roommates. In tough love West finally earns Grey’s trust after flipping a confidential informant from an FBI special agent. As a result West can now wear shot sleeves. In clean cut West is exposed to a unknown substance during a traffic stop and begins hallucinating which worries Lopez as the man they arrested had a prior conviction for possession of PCP. However after West and Lopez visit Grace Sawyer at Shaw Memorial she later tells him that he been exposed to a combination of horse vitamins and caffeine and had been experiencing the symptoms of being high due to an allergic reaction to the substance. With West finally good to go he receives a special award from the deputy chief along with Bradford. In breaking point West meets Sterling Freeman a male actor on a major procedural television show hot suspect which West is a fan of. Grey assigns West and Lopez to help with the show and to teach the actors proper police procedure. West and Freeman begin dating at the conclusion of the episode after falling for one another. In Now and Then West pretends to break up with Freeman due to Freeman’s celebrity status he is forced to do this because of an incident at a previous call. They are still together despite the public now believing that they had broken up. In Hand Off West solves a murder on his own after being stuck at the station because Lopez had gone to testify at the parole hearing of the man who nearly killed Sgt Grey. When Grey returns to the station that evening West is eager to tell him what had happened and Grey is impressed. In The Q Word is devastated following the death of Chris Rios because the two had been close friends. Chen later comforts him in their apartment and West becomes determined to find Rios’s killer he eventually arrests Serj Derian in The Hunt. In Consequences Lopez is promoted to detective which means that West will need a new training officer. In Justice West gets a new training officer for his last month as a rookie. The training officer Doug Stanton is blatant racist which prompts West to enlist help from Sergeant Grey to bring Stanton up on report. What seems to have a steady boyfriend in Sterling Freeman whom he meets in Breaking Points until West finds out Sterling Freeman been lying about his past in True Crime at which point West says they have gone their separate ways. In Lockdown West gets badly beaten by four suspects it is found later that his training officer Doug Stanton failed to come to West’s aid allowed him to get beaten while he remained in hiding. Stanton is then relieved of duty and headed for disciplinary action. He was later fired from the LAPD. In Amber West is promoted to Police Officer 2. In the episode Man of Honor he and Lucy Chen rode together while on patrol. In Triple Duty West was interviewed by Fiona Ryan Nolan’s college professor and gives his story on why he wants change in the police force because of his experience with Stanton. He was later dismayed to find Stanton was successful in appealing his termination and is reinstated in the LAPD albeit a demotion to Officer II and stripped of his FTO role and seniority while transferred to the Hollywood Division. West went to Ryan about this and she wanted him to go public with this but Grey convinced Hollywood Division’s Watch Commander Sergeant Stella Porter to show this bodycam footage to the division. As the video is being played the officers opinion of Stanton changed giving him looks of disbelief and disappointment. When Stanton tries to squeeze his way out a satisfied West assures him they now know his true colors. West later attends Angela and Wesley’s wedding but the ceremony is disrupted when Sandra de La Cruz men kidnap him and Lopez. In Life and Death the squad watch camera footage showing Jackson has been shot in the back and killed by one of Sandra de la Cruz men while trying to escape capture. However Jackson was able to scratch his assailant getting some of his DNA. Sergeant Grey then reveals the DNA was processed and matched. Grey later arrests Jackson’s killer Armando admitting that he would love to kill him in retribution for Jackson’s death. However he takes him into custody knowing Jackson wouldn’t approve. At the end of the episode Angela Lopez is seen at Jackson’s grave paying her respects and announcing that she named her newborn son after him. Jackson wasn’t mentioned throughout the rest of season four or appeared on any photos of him. Following his death Chen asks Tamara Colins to move into his old room as her roommate. While the both women have mixed feelings about the transition Chen still trying to come to terms with his fear and Tamara feeling that she erased his memory both agree that West would want something good to come out of his death if it meant Tamara was able to finally have a place to call home.

James Murray is a recurring character on the rookie. He is the husband of Nyla Harper and runs a community center that the mild Wilshire officers frequently visit. He portrayed by Arjay Smith. During end game James talks about doing couple things but is shocks when Nyla discovers she’s six weeks pregnant with his child. Also James fails to respond with anything but a shocked stare. After a talk with Wesley he starts working on ways to apologize. Eventually they meet to talk about it and and after Nyla explains she is having the baby James apologizes and they make up. As of backstabbers Nyla is heavily pregnant and confessed to James that she is tired of being called his baby mama an proposes to him to be called his wife. James was initially accepting but later confides it didn’t seem right to be proposed to since he considered it. James later talks with Nyla and after she accepts his position he proposes to her on the spot and she accepts. They get married at courthouse with all their friends in attendance. James was happy to have a wife and stepdaughter. In coding James talked Nyla to the hospital for a checkup on the baby before they see that her roommate is a child with a head injury. He was concerned when the hospital’s power went out and Nyla got involved in a situation after the boy’s parents didn’t want to get it examined only for Nyla to discover that it was a kidnapping. In labor day he and Nyla have moved into a new house where she is hoping to give birth. Much later James is found by Grey who apprehendeds his attacker. However James was concerned for his wife and runs the rooms where he finds the burglar alive but with a gunshot wound and Nyla who has given birth holding a the baby at the same time the burglar at gunpoint. She casually tells James it’s a girl. After the situation he shares a moment with his family and watches Nyla tell Grey and Lopez that she is officially extending her maternity leave to watch their daughter. James holds her to that as the cop instincts started the situation.

Caleb Wright was a guest character and antagonist on The Rookie. He was the protégé of convicted serial killer Rosiland Dyer. He was portrayed by Michael Cassidy. Wright is first seen in the opening sequence of the dark side when Lucy Chen meets him at bar called Las Torres while she is there with John Nolan, Nick Armstrong and Jackson West. Chen is immediately attracted to him but their interaction is cut short when Chen spots a man stealing money out of the pockets of other customers. Later Wright arrives at the station to give Chen his phone number but Tim Bradford is suspicious of him. Bradford eventually relents and allows Chen to get his number. As Chen and Bradford are on patrol Bradford witnesses Chen viewing a photo of Wright on her phone. Later as Chen and Bradford are heading down the elevator to the medical examiner’s room they both watch a video of Wright on her phone. Nolan and Harper later find a cabin at an abandoned zoo and rescue Nora Valdez Wright’s intended third victim. Wright who is wearing a mask over his face witnessed this and escapes into a storm drain. He attempts to drown Nolan in a vat of water but is interrupted by Harper’s arrival. He then escapes through a door and locks it. In the briefing room the officers believe Bryan Coleman is behind the murders not knowing that Wright had stolen his identity. Bradford tells Chen that she should go out for a drink with another human. Chen then meets Wright at the bar for a drink. At the station Wade Grey reveals that Bryan Coleman was found dead under the cabin and Wright abducts Chen after slipping something into her drink revealing himself to be the actually killer. Picking up in Day of Death Chen wakes up to find Wright tattooing her day of death onto her abdomen. West then tells the other officers about Chen’s disappearance after failing to find her at the apartment that they have together. Bradford,West and Armstrong discover that the video Bradford had viewed earlier had been deleted along with the rest of Wright’s social media pages. Chen wakes up to find herself tied to a chair in a house. Wright enters the room and tells Chen that his intended victim was Armstrong but he had abducted her instead seeing a crime of opportunity. Wright then gets angry at Chen when she correctly profiles him and tells her that he was going to enjoy killing her. After a short time Chen is able to break free of her restraints and she attempts to escape only to realize that the house and the property that surrounds it is completely abandoned much to her dismay. Wright is able to catch up to her and the two struggle briefly until Wright incapacitates Chen and drags her back towards the house. Several hours later Wright begins to lead Chen towards her gravesite with her wrists bound with zip ties. He also pokes her several times with a knife and mocks her. They reach the gravesite snd Wright tells Chen that given the setbacks he was going to have to bury her alive which he did not do with his first two victims. When Chen protests Wright threatens her with a gun forcing her to get in the barrel. She was smart by taking off her ring and tossing it to the ground next to her gravesite. He then further humiliates her by taking a picture of her and showing her the camera on the bottom of the barrel’s lid. He then locks the barrel’s lid into the place and then kicks the barrel into the pre-dug hole. He hurries Chen alive and leaves. He is next seen stalking Armstrong at the graveyard where Armstrong’s wife is buried. Armstrong was about to answer a call from Nolan until Wright confronts him. Seeing him Armstrong reached for his gum until Wright shows him the video feed of Chen. Wright then taunts Armstrong about the death of his wife and explains that Armstrong needs to come with him or else Chen will die. Wright then takes Armstrong’s gun and they both leave the graveyard with Wright leaving both the photo of Chen and Armstrong’s phone behind. The photo has the caption now I have two cops on it is later found by Angela Lopez and Sargent Grey. Wright then takes Armstrong to the house where he is holding Chen captive. There is a barrel in the house and Armstrong runs towards it believing Chen is inside. He finds the barrel empty and realizes he has been tricked but it is too late as Wright points Armstrong’s gun at him and reveals that Chen is buried inside of different barrel. He then tells Armstrong that Rosiland felt bad that he had missed his wife’s death and was giving him Chen’s death to watch instead. Wright then proposes that they will watch Chen’s death together and then he will suffocate Armstrong as well. Later Nolan and Harper find the house after Lopez discovers where it is. Nolan breaches the front door of the house and Harper fatally shoots Wright through the window after he points Armstrong’s gun at Nolan. Armstrong is distraught as Wright is the only who knows where Chen is buried. They try in vain to revive Wright but he dies of his injuries before he can tell them anything. The other officers arrive spreading out over the property to find Chen and Bradford finds Chen after spotting her ring on the ground near her burial site. The other officers then rush over to help Bradford dig up the site. Bradford eventually removes the lid and they find Chen unconscious but she is revived after Bradford performs cpr on her. As Chen recovers from her ordeal in the hospital Nolan goes to visit Rosiland at the prison and reveals to her that they had recovered Wright’s notes about her crimes from the abandoned house meaning that they now knew everything about her murderous past and that she now longer has secrets.

London based American new mother Beth flies to Croatia for a holiday with her best friend Kate. Beth confides that her marriage has hit a full patch and that she is uncertain what to do. They go clubbing and two men flirt with them. Kate suggests Beth have a one night stand. The next morning Beth wakes up foggy about the night’s events and realizes Kate is missing. Her husband Rob and the police are indifferent but Zain the taxi driver who drove them to the club agrees to help. Beth recovers Kate’s purse and phone after Zain threatens one of the men from the previous evening and learns that the men from the club escorts hired by Kate. However they are also con men who and drug and rob the women they service. Beth returns to the police who start an official investigation. Rob arrives in Croatia and immediately suspects Zain. Shortly after Kate’s body is found. Beth searches Kate’s phone for clues and finds text messages between Rob and Kate revealing an extramarital affair. Beth is called into the police station as the primary suspect. It is revealed that both Kate and Beth had drugs in their systems as Beth suspect due to her memory loss and she insists she was drugged. The police interview the escorts who have no criminal history and deny any wrongdoing. The police confiscate Beth’s passport. Beth calls Rob and confronts him about the affair. The police arrest Beth accusin her of hiring Zain to murder Kate. Beth confronts him but he maintains his innocence. Beth discovers her airbnb host Sebastian records his renters. Footage shows Beth was put in bed early the night Kate went missing. It shows Kate getting robbed by the escorts entering a taxi follow them and returning later in another car. Beth discovers the car belongs to Pavić the policeman who doubted her story. Beth and Zain interview the taxi driver who drove Kate that night. He said Kate had him follow the two men and he dropped her off at the police station. Beth is named a suspected murder and she and Zain are arrested. Beth figures out that Pavić was involved in Kate’s disappearance. Zain gives himself up so beth can escape but she is caught by Pavić. They struggle and he falls off the building to his death. The police believe that Pavić killed Kate when she rejected his advances and Beth is declared innocent. Back in London Rob wants to reconcile but Beth refuses. While looking for car keys she finds beads from a necklace she gave Kate in Rob’s coat pocket. She realizes Rob killed Kate and confronts him while on the line with the police. He admits he flew to Croatia to stop Kate from revealing their affair argued with her and pushed her into the water before running off. The police arrest him Beth leaves with her baby.
