Everything Ends
The sun is burning, spreading a wave of orange and red across the sky, setting the horizon on fire. Trees fall, buildings crumble to the ground, children scream, adults cry. This is it, they thought. This was the end.
They could have done something about this. This all could’ve been stopped. But people don’t like to admit that they’ve made mistakes, and nobody knows how to grow.
She reaches down and grips another’s hand tight as she watches this burning flame. Perhaps she is standing next to a lover, or a friend, or a stranger. It doesn’t really matter. Either way, they would be dead before too long.
How did they come to this? The Earth has been here for millions of years, indestructible, and yet here it is now, dying. It’s been neglected, ruined, destroyed by the very things it was made to protect.
But there was nothing anyone could do. It was too late.
She watches the world go up in burning flame. And just like that, everything ends.
The End
Grey ash falls gently from the sky like snow used to. It’s been the closet thing we’ve seen to snow for about 5 years now. The world is increasingly getting worse and there is nothing we can do. The government tells us everything is gonna be fine but deep down we know the earth is dying. We didn’t listen to all those people telling us to save the turtles, keep the oceans clean and recycle our trash. Now the earth has just become one giant landfilled and it’s our faults. We can’t even walk outside without putting on the proper gear to keep us from the toxic fumes. Air filters have been placed inside each of our homes to keep us alive. Even with all the protection we were given at least five people die each day. Our oxygen is decreasing and we won’t have much longer until we’re all gone.
It’s around day 911 and our population now consist of about 30 people less than an average of students in a classroom. We all live in one large shelter struggling to make it through each day. We’ve tried to grow plants to help our oxygen levels but from the lack of sun we have they all end up dying. Water and food is pretty much impossible to obtain now. All we hope and pray for is one giant miracle.
Day 976 and I’m the only one left. It’s dark and I’m pretty sure sunshine doesn’t exist on the earth anymore. The thickness of the ash and dust block the sun from lighting the world up like it once did. I think I’m ready to go now maybe I’m just imagining the darkness or my eyes have been closed this whole time but I’m ready for death to take me.
Day 1000.....
The End
Blazing heat, scorching ground Dank air, dust, everywhere is found Life scorched, metal remnants behind Tepid lake water, lifeless trees find
Along the ground, cold creeps in Feeble air, choking life, from within Darkness descends, rules out the light Left a black reflection, what once is bright
Stationary, revolving no more Into the universe like the star before Sisters, moons quickly follow Down the way, no milk will flow
