From Where I Stood
I stood openly, knowing no one could see my face behind the deep purple umbrella I was holding. I was alone in the deserted field behind my house, but it didn't matter where I was; the town was empty anyways. The purple smoke had gotten rid of all the people that had once lived in the now shadowed houses. I watched as the cloud of color rise back into the air and floated away, as gracefully as it had arrived what seemed like years ago. In truth, it had only been three days since the thick fog had appeared, and soon it would be gone. But the damage had been done, and I was alone as I watched the only evidence of my previous life disappear. I walked towards the houses, resigning to survive, regardless of what it'd take. And I did; now I'm here to tell the story- my story.
