Most of these are what you would expect. Boring I love you’s, I’m scared, I can see the light! Some are a little more exciting, the fuck’s, gonna kill you, shit! But then there’s this one. Just a little “oops”.

I wonder what they did? What happened? What was the oops?

Next to it I see, “been nice knowing you. I guess.”

I wonder who they spoke to?

But then I’m really caught. I see a stone, there is the date, the name, and the quote? Just “…”

Not a screaming, a wailing, a whimpering or a yelling. Just. That. A silence.

I wonder if this person could speak? Or if they just didn’t know what to say? Or if they thought no words were needed? Or if they had a chance to say those words? What would they have said? Would they have said anything?

But my questions are met with silence. Just a name, a date, and then nothing.
