POEM STARTER

‘The flood flowed cold with inky blood

and yet the wet sky blinked with stars in deep slumber’

Write a poem with internal rhymes, ending with this line. Internal rhyme, in this case, is where words within the same line rhyme with each other.

Found Little Bird

Once a day the wind calls upon my name Fearful of being a pawn in nature’s game I search for shelter and a place to call my own Lost in a world much too far from home Thirsty and alone battered and afraid Pressing my ears to the earth hoping to hear my name Numbered days and counted ways The flood flowed cold with inky blood And yet the wet sky blinked with stars in deep slumber
