Chapter 7

*THREE MONTHS LATER*

His touch was like electricity flowing through me every time. It never got old. The days, minutes, and hours seemed to be flying by with him.We couldn’t keep our hands off of each other. Everyday we spent together was filled with so much love, light, and laughter. He was my best friend, my person, and I would do anything for him.

I was alone staring at the edge of the water lost in thought when I sensed him approaching me.

“Sneaking up on me, huh?” I said looking back at him smiling.

“I know better than to sneak up on you.” He said laughing as he wrapped his arms around me from behind. He kissed me gently on the cheek. “What’s on your mind?”

“I’m not sure, I feel off. I feel tired and not too well.”

“Why do you go and get some rest?”

I nodded and walked away. It wasn’t long before he was with me wrapping himself around me just to be close to me. His presence gave me a sense of peace and I quickly fell asleep.

When I woke up he was gone. I went out of the cave and there he was with a flower and food ready for us to enjoy together and I just couldn’t believe they kept these experiences from us. It made me angry that they didn’t let us live life. Why couldn’t we be ‘spare parts’ that got to experience emotions and feelings?

I quickly shook myself out of my thoughts so that I could be present with him.

“A flower? To what do I owe this honor?” I joked.

“You deserve far more than just one. You deserve everything you want.”

All I could do was smile at him. I crossed the sand to meet him and kissed his lips. That’s when I threw up.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

“I’m not sure what’s going on with me.” I said back to him.

*TWO MONTHS LATER*

I was still getting sick everyday and 13 was growing concerned about me.

“This has been going on for quite some time. Are you sure you’re alright?” He asked me.

“I feel fine otherwise. Really.” I tried to sound reassuring and I kissed his lips.

He smiled at me and then pulled me close and kissed my forehead. I loved when he did that. There was something about forehead kisses that felt more intimate to me than regular kisses. Then I just wrapped my hands around him and held him.

*13’s POV*

I wasn’t sure what was going on with her. My mind was going a million places as she was standing there holding on to me. She needed to be okay.

I pulled her away from me and then it was like something clicked in her mind and I could see it in her eyes.

“What was that? What’s going on in that beautiful mind?” I asked her.

“I think I know what’s going on with me. I can’t believe I didn’t think about it before.” She said to me.

“Well don’t keep me on my toes, what is it?”

“I think I’m pregnant. I don’t know anything about it aside from what I’ve seen. But I just realized that I haven’t bled in a while.”

“Oh…wow.” I said to her and walked away.

“13!” She called after me.

“I just need a minute…” I said as I continued to walk away.

That was probably cold and I didn’t mean it to be. That was the first time I ever acted like that with her. She was everything to me. I just needed to wrap my head around this news, I think I was just in shock. I went to the waterfall and I sat on a rock and just stared at it, losing myself in my thoughts.

After a while I decided to get in the water, this time to try and clear my head and quiet out the thoughts. So I undressed and left my clothes where I was sitting and got in.

*216’s POV*

I can understand the idea of a baby being hard to wrap your head around. It was hard for me to envision myself, but here I was. I needed to talk to him. It had been quite some time since he walked away from me so I decided to go and find him.

The island isn’t large, so it wasn’t hard to find him at the waterfall. I sat on the same rock that his clothes were and just watched him until he noticed me.

“Hey there.” I said to him as his eyes met mine.

“Hey.” He said back to me. “I’m sorry about before, I was cold. I didn’t mean to be. I was just surprised.”

“I get it. It’s a lot to wrap your head around.”

“Come in here with me.”

I did as he asked and removed my clothes and got in. He brushed my hair out of my face and kissed me.

“It will all be okay, you know.” I said to him.

“I know. Everything will be as long as we face it together.”

“Always.” I said kissing him again drawing him back into me by biting his lower lip again like before. I could tell that it drove him crazy because he gripped me into him and kissed me harder.

I led him out of the water and to our cave where we continued our night and exhausted ourselves. We fell asleep naked on the floor holding each other, completely forgetting about our clothes at the falls.
