The trip, to Gram’s lonely house on the hill

Mom says, before she goes she takes a pill

She our Gran, lives all alone with her one cat

That is her life choice, what do you do with that

As our old car, pushed us up the hill to visit her

The hair on my arms, raised up as the cat purr

The rusted up door opened, without a knock or bell

Gran floated toward us, giving us her look from hell

Welcome home my children, sang out into the blanket air

She happily beckoned us, into the parlor with ghostly flair

Now it is time for your lessons, dear so your Mom can leave
