Vanishing
I was living in Mainland, Ohio at the time during Winter. I was lonely, my parents despised me, and I had no siblings. I wanted to just go away-VANISH.
One day, I was walking home from school, and I thought, “Hey! Why don’t I just keep walking and vanish?” So, I didn’t look up from the cracks in the sidewalk, nor did I turn down my street to go home. Instead, I just kept walking.
I had some money in my pocket. So I went into the gas station 30 minutes later and got a hot dog, and a milk shake. Then I kept on walking. I think I ended up in a different state 3 hours later because everything was totally different.
For some odd reason, I wasn’t worrying about anything. It was just what I wanted. To be away and no one even knew I existed anymore.
I found a dark, dark cave. So I went under there. A couple hours before I had gotten more food and candies. So I snacked on those. I was trying to stay secret…live a very quiet life with no friends or parents. I wanted to be free.
I made a small fire and sat down…then I got some leaves and made a pallet for a bed. I rested my head, happy and unusually energetic.
The next morning I heard an alarm go off my phone- for I still had it. It was an amber alert. It said,
“Jamie Sillvan goes missing. Brown hair, blue eyes, red shirt, and black leggings. 5’4, slim, 16. Call 911 if you find her.”
“Oh no.” I whispered under my breath. “I have to hide.”
A couple minutes after, I started to pick a different hiding spot. But then, I heard a police helicopter, trying to find me. I kept running, making too much movement. I heard,
“Jamie Sillvan! She’s there!”
“NOOOoooo” I yelled.
The helicopter came down towards me and landed. All of my hopes and dreams went away and vanished. They were gone. I quit.
The man came running after me. And grabbed me. Before I knew it, I was in the helicopter with a furious, muddy, mad face explaining what happened.
