Playground Swings

We lock eyes in class and both start to laugh

Because you were always a perfect distraction

Golden eyes staring at mine

But yours are so so much brighter

But yet you still smile into me.

You see the world as a boat

You get on and start to sail

But you forgot to invite me

You thought I did not care

But I do care

I see everything

We sit on playground swings talking as we fly

Higher and higher

Swinging forward and back in time

We fly off

And laugh

And then everything just

dies.

And now I am walking

All alone past those swings

Past the school

Past the forest where we almost kissed before the possibility died.

Died just like me and you.

Farewell my almost lover
