Strangers
She runs to him with open arms,
leaving behind a sea of doubts
and her safe place.
To be with him, when he’s so far,
She scratched her knees and hushed her cry
and bruised her heart.
Then, finally, one step ahead,
he sees her running and he’s smiling
to someone else.
To beg, to plead, to pray or leave?
She would do all and far beyond them!
but he can’t see.
Together in two different worlds,
when all she’s dreaming is his touches,
they’re strangers.
Her knees are bruised, she doesn’t know
to pray for love, to ask for mercy!
She felt too much and now, with him,
they’re dying.
