Like Fire And Ice
“Hand it over, now!” Calls one of those annoying superheroes, flicking his fiery red tail.
“This? I think I’ll keep it for now, it’ll look nice bejeweled to my outfit.” I say, swooping my gloved paw over my frosty blue and white super villain outfit. The fox snarls. “Frost!” Anger flashes in his eyes.
“Toying with my prey is what I do, you know?” I flick my wrist and ice begins to crawl up the building, following the fox. “Come on, Slick, I know you can do better than that.” I tease. He leaps up, landing on me, and we tumble to the ground. He grabs the Super Snow Gem from my paws and begins to race off in a fire ball, when I grab his tail. “You know I love you?” I tease again, batting my eyelashes and swaying my snowy white fox tail. “Fire and Ice aren’t meant to be though.” Slick says, his grip tightening on the jewel. “Neither are Supers and villains, yet look at us.” I say, smiling slyly at him. He gulps and his green eyes glisten in the moonlight.
Suddenly, I grab the jewel and smile, “I’ll be taking this back.” Then we race off, leaping from building to building, teasing each other and throwing fireballs and snow. And I know, even though he acts like he hates me, I’m his one and only, I’m his forever gal, I’m Frost and he’s Slick, a red fox and arctic fox.
Like fire and ice, so different, yet the same.
