POEM STARTER
"In the heart of the city, under the neon lights, our paths crossed, igniting endless nights."
Compose a poem beginning with this line.
Heart Of The City
In the heart of the city,
under the neon lights,
our paths crossed,
igniting endless nights.
Back at my house,
That dark blue door,
With a hope of someday,
It will mean more.
I walk in
But it doesn’t feel right,
Not without him by my side.
Maybe if I read a book
It’ll pass the time,
And I won’t have to think
About that night.
Our paths have crossed,
And now he’s gone.
Never to be back,
Cause he wants something more.
The neon lights
Are now nothing but dim,
The empty streets
This chill of the city air.
In the heart of this city,
Where I used to be happy.
Is a place I’m leaving,
So I can go be with my family.
