Morning Rays
The beam of the sun shining through the window highlighted a part of your face.
Your eyes were a brighter shade of green, a color I’ve never seen before.
When you smiled I looked away.
There was a drop in my stomach.
A good one.
The kind you get after you fall from the highest point of a rollercoaster.
I felt my heart rush with this strange warmth.
I felt the beat go through my chest.
My eyes kept wandering back to yours. My cheeks flushed with a scarlett tint.
I felt my eyes open again and there you were,
Still standing with the sun on you.
A part of me hopes to capture this image forever,
A mental picture.
The day I felt I was spinning in my highest heels
A keepsake forever.
