POEM STARTER
Fire and Flames
Write a poem where fire is the central theme, whether this be physical or a metaphorical burning.
Sticks, Tears And Flames.
My emotions burst into flames,
Ablaze right before my eyes,
Crisping my brain to ash black,
As I feel I might be going insane.
The fire devours at me,
And jerks tears from my sockets,
My entire body ripple with jitters,
My thoughts like the scattering embers.
Overwhelmed is all I can feel,
And all I can do is curse myself,
For my reaction being so fierce,
Over something so friendly.
I hate this stupid hell circle,
It encircles me, boils my spirits,
It smothers me until I faint,
From its thick smoke of distress.
I’m decomposing so gradually,
Like sticks of positivity thrown in the fire,
I can’t take it anymore,
I can’t stand it- I can’t breathe.
There’s no hero in sight,
So I’m left to only burn,
And hope my tears,
Will douse the fire away.
