AGATHA

- Good morning Alex! - says an old woman as she enters the hair salon. She used to come once a week for getting ready to her usual dance ball every saturday, but it’s been a few months since she last came.

- Nice to see you Agatha, how’s everything going? - I ask really intrigued -. Long time without hearing from you.

She just sights and sits in one of the empty chairs. I’ve known her for a while, so I don’t ask her how to dye her hair. While applying it, I notice her grayish hair’s been damaged.

- Have you done something new to your hair?

- Can you please do your job and let me be? - she says while closing her eyes.

That’s weird and disrespectful, she’s always been very kind. Once the product is applied, I let it rest and check my schedule, she missed tons of appointments lately.

- I would aprecciate you to call me if you’re not coming, Agatha - I don’t get an answer, we don’t talk until her hair is done.

- My daughter will pay you, she has an appointment with you tomorrow, okay?

Sure, I guess. It’s not the first time she does that.

Today is a busy day, festive weekends always require special hairstyles, so my hairsalon is full the hole journey. Agatha’s daughter came at 12pm, the busiest hour of the day, so I didn’t got the chance to ask her about her mother until she came to pay.

- It will be 45€, plus your mother’s… 80€ please.

- What?

- Yes, she came yesterday after a long time. She’s been alright? Seemed a little different, maybe she was tired but I wanted to ask.

- Alex… My mother died 2 months ago.

I went totally pale while checked my schedule. She even got her next appointment for next friday…
