Wire
The circus always intrigued me, as a young child
Watching the elephants dance, clowns going wild
Sitting under the big top with magic, and tight ropes
Kids and their family eating popcorn, having hopes
I’m sitting here dreaming, about walking the high wire
My heart is racing, and palms start to burn like a fire
Room is spinnng and I can feel, the height of my fear
Climbing up the life line ladder to the top, wire near
The crowd from up here, looking like small tiny dots
They were crying out to me, as I walked in my thoughts
One foot almost slipped, and at that point I really saw
That no one had put up,the nightly safety net pain raw
My other foot turned inward with a twist, I started to fall
Maybe this dream like fantasy of wire, is just a fake call
