POEM STARTER
Write a poem that could be sung as a lullaby.
You could set it to the tune of an existing lullaby, or think up your own rhythm. Remember that lullabies are for children, and are ususally meant to be calming.
Beyond
Beyond a dream you close your eyes
Let go of all those bright loose ties
Just breathe in soft and fall in deep
And say goodnight before your leap
Your tears so soft will turn to rain
A gentle hum that soothes the pain
For sleep’s here darling, no need to worry
It’s almost night, no need to hurry
So lay down low, under mountains and stars
And whisper that nights will always be ours
For to the sky, past galaxies you’ve flown
Sleep will come for dreamers enthroned
