A day had passed since Cherry fell into the strange world. The cats who had found her appeared to have been zapped into this world like her a long time ago. Shifting around in her new bed, which had been given to her by the others, Cherry closed her eyes, expecting that when she awoke she’d be human again and back in the real world.

Moonlight flickered in through Cherry’s window that was covered with a net to keep things out. She sat up, looking at herself in dread as she saw nothing but tortoiseshell fur. She sniffed, knowing that she may never get out of this situation. Flicking her ears, she heard the other strange cats like her outside on the treehouse balcony. Pulling herself away from her new room, she awkwardly followed their voices.

Outside, the moon was shining down upon them, shimmering it’s reflective rays across the horizon. Gabby flicked her silver striped tail and looked behind her, “hey Cherry! We figured you wouldn’t be able to sleep for long…” She murmured sympathetically. Cherry nodded, feeling the others gaze at her with faint smiles. “None of us could sleep a wink when we first arrived here,” Blade said to her, shrugging his Abyssinian red shoulders. The others murmured agreements, with only Whisper Rose keeping quiet. She hadn’t looked at Cherry at all, or even say a single word to her. Cherry figured she didn’t want to remember when she first got here in this fantasy world, but who knew what swirled in the fluffy feline’s head.

They all sat in silence for awhile, gazing up at the stars with weary eyes. The large trees that grew next to the treehouse shimmered with gold, lightning up the darkened sky with beauty. Snowdrop suddenly spoke, “this would be more of a magical moment if what’s happening wasn’t,” she said, sighing. Storm flicked one of her ears briskly, “sure, but we can still enjoy the moment” she’d say with attitude.

Dude tapped a paw in front of him, moving his tail over the large, wooden balcony, “I’m positive there’s a way put of here.” He’d begin, “Diamond said so the last time we visited her.” Cherry tilted her head, “Who? There’s more people who got stuck here?” Dude shook his head, “no, but-“

Raiden cut him off, “there’s this dragon named Diamond, she’s the ruler of the kingdom of Epirisana, she know’s we are humans zapped into this world, yadda, yadda, other things.” He answered Cherry. Suddenly, Whisper Rose spoke for the first time, “not only that, but she’s-“ Cherry yelped in alarm as Blade’s paw suddnely lit on fire, “your paw!” She shrieked. Blade laughed and the fire went away, “that’s just me! It’s not like I randomly caught fire.”

“You did that? But how did you…” Cherry’s mind spun in confusion. Quail Song spoke up, “each of us have the power to use a certain ability. Diamond was the one who gave us these, I think that’s what Whisper Rose was trying to say before Blade enabled his power.” She meowed, “you’ll gain one soon…” she added quietly.

Cherry nodded, “then what can you guys do then?” She’d ask, slowly feeling more secure around the group. Everyone shared their powers and what they could do, Gabby made water appear out of no where, Storm formed a cloud, it finally came to Whisper Rose, but she simply shook her paw to make a gust of wind hit Cherry right in the face.

After sharing memories and telling tales, the RavenWood group retreated back into the treehouse for some well deserved rest.

Cherry sat on her bed, glancing around at her empty room. In the morning she’d find things to decorate it, she might as well make things fancy if this could end up being her forever home.

With an unhappy sigh, Cherry closed her eyes and fell to sleep.
