The day I met him

Was like all others

The queen chose two paper slips

The crowds awed

All I could remember was

His shining palace

Became our enlightening castle

My hands now held

Multiple gold roses

But they were too expensive

To be even a bit beautiful

He waited

For the day I would say “I do.”

Wearing my gold wedding dress

For the skies to turn dark

So I could escape

And go

Beyond all the gold embers

Towards the cozy moonlit forest

Where my heart was stored

Waiting for the chance

To finally feel love

The night before the wedding

The cold breeze swept through

As I ran towards

There she stood

Under the starlit sky

Laying on the damp grass
