A Cloudy Day Confession

Sometimes when it rains, I pause

I look to the sky and breathe

Another scene is the cause

It makes me grind my teeth

I bet you’d be confused

Why rain brings me such pain

It washes my heart so bruised

A reminder of you, I’ll explain

One insignificant night

Much past your recall

You laughed in delight

You loved to see the rain fall

I agreed in an instant

but that was only half true

I only liked the rain’s existence

Becuase it meant so much to you

The rain masks my tears of pain

They blend together now

I love you like you love the rain

This, my love, I bitterly vow
