I don’t go a day without it

It’s impossibly ugly

But it’s grown on me

Now, it’s what I know

Now, I’m comfortable in it

Because it is familiar

No matter the day

Good bad or in between

I slip it on before I do anything else

Before I go down to breakfast or brush my teeth

Before I let anyone see me

Because it makes me comfortable

This thing that I put on?

It is a mindset, telling me

That no one cares

That I am alone

That I have no worth

And I tell myself this every day

I put it on every morning

Though I used to despise it

And now?

I find it hard to stop because it is habit

And I find comfort in its familiarity

Not everything you put on in the morning is physical. So be careful what you tell yourself because it is far too easy to get lost in thoughts like these. But you are better than those thoughts. I believe in you ♡
