POEM STARTER
Inspired by Michael Espinoza
Write a fable set to verse.
How can you recreate the moral lesson of a fable in poetry format?
fuck fairytales
I was in love with fairytales
Till I learned of their twisted fates
Cinderella left her glass slipper to show
She wanted to escape
Snow White slept
To escape all her sorrow
Because she didn’t see
The promise fo tomorrow
Persephone wanted freedom
From her grief and despair
From her husband and his dark lair
There are no happy endings
Not really
Simply storytellers making dreams
Into “reality”
And in all truth
We are all liars
Because we pretend
We live life
As if it’s never going to end
Time will tell
True colors will be seen
