Write a free verse poem from the voice of someone who feels resentful.
Free verse poetry does not have a structured rhyme scheme, can have lines of irregular length, and does not have to keep to a regular meter.
The Blue Sky Is Annoying
I had a good day, and I don’t like it
It feels weird
What am I supposed to do now? Try?
Lightheaded
I resent the blue sky
For showing me that there are reasons
To aim high
Look people in the eye
Not to cry
And that there are better things
To do than
Die
I hope this doesn’t last
And that this blip has almost passed
If you have to crane your neck
There is no comfort in being free
Sad is who I am
And all that I ever wish to be
