The poetry of loving you

resides not in sweet verses

-music of your brilliance-,

nor in the dance of my fingers

upon the secret map of your skin.

It would be so much more!

The art of holding you tight,

as part of me, eternally alive,

goes beyond the sharing of my best days,

and cannot be wrapped in red ribbons

as million of Valentine’s gifts are.

It would take so much more!

The magic of your whispered voice,

when darkness embraces my soul,

it is impossible to be recreated,

here or there, where angels sing

praises of your courage.

It would mean so much more!

We’re running out of words and time, my love,

so maybe…in different tender ways,

we could lay here, silently.

My heart - part of your heart,

will love you the way

it needs to be loved.

And it is so much more!
