The Last Run

I looked down and I seen the beaming red dot on my chest. I had to look twice to make sure what I was seeing was even real, it was, unfortunately. At this point, my heart was racing but there was one thought that was deadweight in my head; am I dead? I asked because in the sense of panic, I sorta felt some peace, not too much but some. Ten seconds felt like ten years as I was faced with this mystery of who would do this to me. I accepted my fate and I squinted hard, nothing can fail now… except for my heart.
