Feathers
Write a definition
in the cornfields,
tell me exactly
what feathers wield.
To you, they’re merely
feathers, the equivalent of hair.
To someone like me,
a love letter with words to spare.
Feathers share a message
only ones who look for it can find.
Stories behind the black and white
and poking, do you seem to mind?
Feathers
drop
like
a
penny
in
a
fountain.
And the birds that dropped them,
are better than both women and men.
Love you birds,
keep sending the feathers.
Distract me from reality,
keep me safe from weather.
Feathers are a message,
will you look next time?
Don’t steal though,
but enjoy the rhymes.
but
feathers
fly
away
too
fast.
Stupid of me to think
birds will be the song that lasts.
Can the feathers come back?
