I used to think Brave was an award

Battles won, new paths forged

Many lessons I’ve learned these days

Sometimes courage is just walking away

No longer fighting, needing to be heard

Embracing the silence, not saying a word

Strength is balanced equal parts

Removing the shield, bearing your heart

Expose the soft side, vulnerable and free
