Safer But Sadder
I saw only grey
When I awoke to the rain
My sleep had been in vain
My head began to sway
The willow tree was useless
It swayed to the rhythm of the wind
Each chime to the beat was determined
To break my sureness
I knew not which way to go
My home was far for I had run
Away I had sprinted with just a bullet and a gun
I avoided all roads so no one would follow
Oh.
No.
Blue light befell me
A streak of fire set free
A scar to last a century
But alas the storm gave mercy
And finally,
I’m home.
