It's that time of year again.
Wrap your gifts
and tape your mouth shut.
Pretend like the scissors don't flirt with you.
You wonder how it would feel
to be strangled with tinsel,
because you've learnt that not everything always itches the way you'd expect.
What if I swallowed the sleigh bells?
Surely bells still ring
when you're allergic to holly?
You consistently write lines that make me feel seen and heard and sorry that someone else has to feel this way but also so glad that I get to read what you write, the line about the scissors flirting was that line in this poem, but all of the normally cheery holiday season things turned dark were well done!

In all seriousness though… this piece is incredible. It’s extremely painful and extremely vulnerable. Moreso than a typical reader would probably understand. I appreciate it.
