I heard the doors open so I reach for the next guests hand. I feel her glove woven of the finest silk with tenderness and love. The threads change from her fingers to her arm. They form embroidered ivy wrapping her arm.
‘May I take you to your seat miss?’ I ask as I grab onto the guide pool.
‘Yes, on the way may I ask you what you think of my dress?’ She replies opening what sounds like a fan.
‘Of course miss’ I reply as I use my hands as my minds eye.
Her gloves were silk and textured with the vine yet when I moved to her bust I discovered something most devine.
Her corset was made of smooth leather and fuzzy fur.
The hooks made of smooth polished stone.
And the strings from fiber cotton rope.
‘It is marvelous miss, it feels most splendid. I’m sure it will be the talk of the dinner’ I say as I head her to the dinning room.
‘Thank you young sir. I made it in my spare time. The fruits of the Forrest always feel so sublime’ she said as she held into my hand guiding it around her dress for me to feel.
I smile as I feel the wind aginast my face. Each step I take I can feel the fall leafs crunch beneath my feet. The sky a nice orange glow as the sun falls below the tree line. The path I’m on is new to most but old hat to me. I walk it every year at this time. I find it my duty to help those who cross it from time to time.
As the path twists and turns into the woods the sky falls to black only illuminated under the moons watchful eye.
As I walk through the woods I see my first sole wondering the path.
‘Good evening madam, how are you this evening?’ I ask.
‘Where…. Where am I..?’ She asks confused.
‘I.. I was just at a photographers for a portrate.’ She states as she looks aground.
‘My deer I apologize but this is a woods. But I believe the new path you seek is ahead. Down the path and to your right. I sure things will turn out alright.’ I say tipping my hat and extending my hand.
‘Would you like a guide? I know these woods well.’ I ask with a smile.
Another day, another bed I don’t remember the words I said.
The act done, A faceless fling Sadly still silence on my heart strings.
Asleep I walk through life’s mortal grounds Never hearing a meaningful sound.
Days to weeks, never knowing what i seek. Months to years, now scared to even peek.
I hold my head down Not wanting to show the living my frown.
Then out of the winter air Came a bright light, his eyes ever fair.
I feel a sture, my body quakes With every work he speaks and sentence makes.
Winter begone, I hear a song. Sang by the one I love from this day on.
Hours are slow yet years are fast. I no longer walk asleep above the grass.
My love for keeps me strong. My fire warming as I play my heart strings song.
You showed me love was more than an embrace Through every thing you brought a smile to my face.
I know now what true love is to be Our lives growing together like a tree.
For even when the seasons change And our leaves fall with the rain.
Our roots togeather we will grow The love we share will keep us warm in the snow.
And it reminds us of what we know We will awake in summer to continue to grow.
