I sat awkwardly at the restaurant’s table. It was valentines and everyone else had date who appeared early or on time , except for me. I sat sadly and alone at the table as I stared at my phone. Waiting patiently for a text or a call , after all she was late. Suddenly, an hour passed and people saw that I was upset. They tried to comfort me, I then decided to leave quickly.
I paid my bill awkwardly and walked out quietly.
“Soldier, I order you to hunt down the traitor and bring them back to me alive.” “sir, how did you know that we have a mole?” “I received word that the enemy, has our plans. our formations, our names, information about each one of our strengths.” “Why would you select me for the Job?.” “Because I know I can only trust you Elric , do you remember what you said to me when I first met you?” “no, sorry commander Tim.” “That’s okay. This is what you said : “Sir, thank you for allowing me to follow in my father’s footsteps and serve my nation.” I was sure that I could trust you because your father died to protect me. I put my life on the line, to even get you into the army. You’re weak, pathetic, but you have a strong heart, a strong will. You’re like your father but weaker. A lot. Despite that, you have proved your worth in our last battle when you followed my commands to retrieve my second unit’s leader from the battlefield and bring him home safely. At that time, I chose you because no one has your build. Weak but you have used this to perfect your stealth. I knew you’d sneak there somehow unnoticed and retrieve him safely. Thank you soldier Elric Gung. “
“How did you meet my father?” “It’s a long story, currently our top priority is to find the mole. The stake of our nation is at risk.” “sorry, my curiosity got the better of me.” “That’s okay. I’ll tell you another time. Follow me into this elevator to my room. We need to discuss this privately. So Elric , any idea who this mole is?” Elric pointed at the shadows and exclaimed, “I have him right here.” Tim shone his flashlight at the shadows and there he was, dressed in black. It was so dark that you could only barely see the white in his pupils. Tim quickly withdrew his pistol and fired at his leg.” The man screamed in pain. Elric snook behind the mole and tied him up in handcuffs. “Elric, how’d you know he was there?” “He was on the elevator with us. Didn’t you notice the elevator text saying it had 3 people instead of 2?” “I’m afraid I didn’t. I’m not use to such technology as much as you.” “Anyways, Elric, take of his mask.” “...Brother Barley?” “You have a brother?” “Yes, but I haven’t seen him in years.” “Should we kill him now?” “No he’s still my brother. Let me try to talk to him first, although I’ll need you to stand by and watch him for any suspicious activity. “ “okay. I’ll follow your orders this time, since you found the mole.”
It’s a nightmare, I don’t wanna be here. Get me out of here! When I entered the room, I felt a sense of doom and gloom appear, Don’t you see what I see? Their fingers become accusatory, Their smiles become smirks. Their chat becomes rumours and gossip The class jerk pointed towards me and smirked while saying : “It’s time for his lesson.” Laughter echoed about the room. I knew I was about to meet my doom. They walked towards me, Fists clenched eagerly.
The last thing I heard was my mate, David scream: “Tim!” Before blacking out. I wonder if anything serious happened, I mean I feel fine. Completely unaware of the time, I decided to sit down on the red leather sofa and turn on the television. I was greeted with an old familiar voice: “Good morning my fellow Americans.” Said Obama. Is this a re run? Or like a special occasion? Is he speaking on behalf of Biden? “Today as your president, I’d like to make a few announcements.” Wait no. That can’t be. He’s not the president. I looked at the date on my phone, it read: Saturday 3rd July. However the time read: 12:46pm. Oh no, I’m late for work! I’ll catch up on the news later I guess. Fortunately my work was just down the road. My Boss, Sam greeted me. “Hi, Tim.” “Sam? Is that you?” I said puzzled. My boss never greeted me. He never even liked me. “Keep up the good work Tim, all goods about being late today.” Said Sam cheerfully. I walked over to the Starbucks counter and walked over to my co worker, Kate. I whispered: “ Is Sam being nice today?” “Sam’s normally nice.” She whispered back “not to me...” I said puzzled again. “What do you mean? You’re his favourite employee!.” “I am!?” “Did you go through Amnesia?.” Asked Kate as she pointed to the wall. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There I was Employee of the month. Not once, not twice but for 5 months straight. I blinked in disbelief. Wait it’s only me and Kate? “Kate, is it just us two working together today?.” I asked. “Yeah the others are busy and our rival coffeeshop across the street, CoffeeGo has a special limited time edition promotion of a desert, so we expected less customers today. So far We’ve been right.” “I see, but Was CoffeeGo always there?” “CoffeeGo was There! You worked at CoffeeGo before working here!” I decided to ‘Google’ CoffeeGo. However My web search engine was replaced by Bing. Strange, although Bing works too I guess. It read “Coffee on the Go was the original name for the Coffee shop, however it was shortened to CoffeeGo.”
“Oh by the way Tim, happy birthday!.” “Thanks!” “I’ll give you my gift later today, I don’t have it on me at the moment.” “Oh sure, Thanks!”
The work shift finished and we closed up the shop. I was about to head home when I saw Kate suddenly text someone and then my friend Tristan suddenly called me. “Hello my man!” “Sup bro? Wasn’t expecting a call from you.” I said. I mean last time we spoke, we weren’t on the best of terms and we hadn’t yet really reconciled. I was glad none the less though. “Do you wanna have a quick catch up.?” “Sure.” “Hold up, I’ll drive over to your work.” “Sure thing, I’ll talk to you when you get here.” “Cya soon mate.” Kate then left and waved bye as she exited the shop. I waved back. A few minutes later, Tristan pulled up in his red Ferrari. “Yo Tristan!” “Yo Tim!” “Wasn’t your car a blue Porsche?” “That’s currently at home, I’m felt like taking this for a spin instead.” “When did you acquire these wheels?” “Their actually my brother’s. He works for a car testing company.” “How fast can this go?” “Fast.” “Can I join you?” “Sure man. Hop on in.” We began to chat about our lives however he kept asking questions I couldn’t exactly answer. Such as: “How’s your niece, does she still remember Uncle Tristan?” “I think so.” I said. I just straight up told a white Lie. I have a niece? What did he mean by Uncle Tristan? we’re not related at all...
We kept awkwardly chatting until we found an empty basket court. “Wanna shoot some shots before I take you home?” “You’re on mate.” Unfortunately I lost, 25 to 18. “Man, no wonder you were our shooting guard back then in high school.” “Haha, Yes sirrrr, still got it. Time to go home aye, I’ll pop by to say hi to your parents to if you don’t mind.” “Sure thing, man.” I said as we hoped back into the red Ferrari.
I opened the house door and was greeted by my niece? “Uncle Tim and Uncle Tristan have come!” “Hello!” I said as I embraced her gentle hug. She guided. (Unfortunately At this moment, I wrote too much)
Audrey knocked on my door.
A smile grew on my face like no other,
My best friend had arrived.
I hadn’t seen her in months!
Oh we have so much to catch up on!
I opened the door.
“Hey, Tim, I thought I’d bring my partner with me to introduce him to you. His name is-“
“Jake.” I said reluctantly.
“Oh, I’m surprised you know him.”
“Hi, Tim.”
“Why don’t you guys come in? You too Jake.” I said hesitantly as a sweat drop rolled down my face.
“Oh sure. Thanks man.” Said Jake.
We headed towards the couches.
“What do you guys want to drink?”
“Oh Tim, I’ll have an Iced coffee.” Said Audrey.
“Oh Tim, You already know.” Said Jake.
“Of course, A non flat frappuccino with extra whipped cream and chocolate sauce.”
“Thanks. It’s good to see you again Tim.”
“You too, Jake.” I said as I sighed.
I walked over with the drinks but then fell as suddenly my right leg twitched.
Fortunately Jake caught them before they fell.
“Are you okay Tim?” Asked Audrey worriedly.
“I’m okay. It happens often.”
“This didn’t happen often last time I saw you.” said Audrey as she pouted.
“Jake, would you care to explain as I get back up?”
“Let me help you up. I’ll explain after.”
“Sure, thanks Jake.”
As I then sat on a chair, massaging my calf muscle, Jake opened his mouth.
“So actually, Tim and I used to work together.”
“But you’re a cop. Tim’s a temporarily redundant injured barista.”
“Tim served on duty with me. We’re old friends. Tim was my senior cop back during those days. This was Tim’s second job, after being a barista.”
“You could put it that way sure. Yeah, we’re old friends.” I said hesitantly.
“Tim put his life on the line for me.”- Jake said as he put a hand on the back of his neck- “Tim jumped in the line of fire, when a wanted convict was firing at me.”
“Word is that the convict is still on the loose today.” I said
“Anyway, Tim took a bullet to the heart and to the leg. I let Tim down by allowing the criminal to get away.”
“weren’t you looking after Tim?” Asked Audrey
“No, Officer brown looked after Tim as I hesitantly ran after the criminal. However I lost him when he disappeared down a pitch black alleyway. I had forgotten to bring my torch. This was during the earlier days of my job as a cop.”
“Wait, you said Tim took a bullet to the heart?! I didn’t know about this! Tim!” exclaimed Audrey
Before I could apologise,
Jake began to speak : “ He was never proud of the fact that he got injured in the line of duty. His heart currently is using one of first prototype hearts. That heart is weaker, compared to the human heart and is why he can’t get much exercise, which is why his leg twitches.”
Audrey looked at me with concern.
“Thanks for explaining Jake. I’m sorry I still have hatred in me towards you for letting me down. Despite the fact that it was a rookie mistake. At the time I was too focused on how much of a threat the convict was to our society.”
“I’m sorry too man.”
“Jake , one thing though.”
“What’s that?”
“I ask that you don’t let me down, and you treat Audrey well.”
“Yes sir! Thank you, sir!”
“Thank you too for serving in the line of duty with me.”
I was standing in line at a Mac donald. I ordered a happy meal. However, for some reason... the employee gave me a weird smirk when he handed it to me. I opened the happy meal . Five bags of cocaine? Where’s my cheese burger? “Put your hands up. You’re under arrest. Target is in possession of drugs.” “Sorry officer, You got this all wrong. I’ve been framed.” “That’s not what it looks like. Don’t do anything suspicious or I’ll shoot.” Sweat dripped down my face as he walked over and handcuffed me. I then clenched my fists together and smashed his hand, causing him to drop the gun. I picked up his gun and ran. “Target has escaped. Pursuing target. Requesting back up. Over.” I jumped out the window and ran down the street. What was I supposed to do? I suddenly ran into an alleyway. Opened a sewer hole, and jumped down. “Target has escaped. I’ve lost sight of him.”
I’m out at sea, lost my map my sail has broke, I’m now awoken to the fact that I didn’t prepare a ‘plan b’ I don’t wanna be lost out at sea The waves are angry, The storm clouds are trying to hit me It’s quite frightening, I don’t wanna be struck with lightning, I’ll admit it, I’ve ran out of luck. I close my eyes and begin to pray “Dear Heavenly Father, Please hear my plea, I’m stuck out at sea, Please calm the storm, Please calm the waves. I pray this in Jesus’ precious name.” As soon as I finished praying, it felt like a new morning, I could feel the sun lightly shining Upon my face as a gentle and cool breeze blew by, I finally felt at ease.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
I applied for an interview today with my employer. He seemed like a nice guy . I walked over and gave him a really strong handshake . I had accidentally squeezed his hand.It broke. Did my employer just piss his pants? Is he scared of me now? “Hire me , or I’ll squeeze your hand again.” I said menacingly. He answered back , stuttering while having a high pitched voice, “H-h-how would you like to start today sir?” “I am hired now. Sweet.” “Um just just sign these documents!” “Thank you.”
I was sitting, thinking about what to do with my spare time during the lockdown. I noticed my desk’s drawer was slightly open. I pulled it open, and there was a letter written addressed to me in blood. What a great way to save ink I thought. Surely , it’s not about danger . My curiosity got the better off me, and I ripped it open.
It read: “Hey, Tim. This is you from your future. You need to help stop global warming, it needs to stop. It’s gonna be bad for the world if the sea levels continue to rise , and the weather patterns become worse. If you don’t believe this is you from the future, do a DNA test on the blood. And also your Password to your email is-“ I’m not gonna read that part out. But man, it was me. No one else knew my super complex password.
I wish Future Me told myself how I was supposed to do that. I flipped over the other side of the letter. I ... had to call Ronald Rump. This was only step 1.
