“I saw the whole thing”... “What do I do now? I witnessed it! I can’t unsee that.” “Who do I tell? Who can I talk to? Can I talk to anyone? Why! Why did I have to see this?!?!” I raced around my room trying to figure out a solution. Memory eraser? That’d be nice. I needed to say something but I couldn’t! I was in quite the pickle! If I say something some people will be grateful and some would mad! But if I don’t say something some people would be grateful and some would be mad! Ugh! I don’t know what to do!😭
The storm was wild Darkness for miles Winds blowing left and right It felt like the middle of the night
I cried as the wind tossed me around Left and right, up and down I couldn’t control myself I just wanted it to stop itself
The wind got stronger than ever I was almost lost forever I felt like I was going to fly away Stronger and stronger wind in every way Then suddenly… it was all over.
There is nothing like freedom. COVID-19 was a very hard time for all of us. It felt like we were trapped or locked up. Freedom never felt better than when I could walk out the door without a mask on. I felt like a dove, finally free. I was ready to spread my wings and fly up into the clouds. Now like a dove, I am flying free!
I am looking down at the city of my birth Starring down at our beautiful Earth I once called this place home But now no more These streets were where I would roam All this until we moved to the shore I loved everyday In the place I would stay But now I walk the sand As my mom holds my hand But I’ll always come back To my first home The streets I once would roam
Have you ever had your heart crushed into a millions pieces after one word. I have. I fell in love with a wonderful man last year. We dated for a while and it was going really well! That was till I came home to the news being on. I Hate the news! (Yes, the H is capitalized for a reason) “Why is the news on?” I said as I reached for the remote. “Do not touch that!” My dad immediately screamed. “Wait why?!?” “There is something really important on!” I look over at the TV and I heard them talking about the coronavirus. I didn’t even know what it meant, yet it seemed to affect me a lot. I felt like my brain was screaming and I couldn’t hear anything else. A million questions were buzzing around in my head like bees! They were driving me crazy! I needed to leave and get some fresh air. That is when my dad stopped me and said, “We need to QUARANTINE.” “No, no, please no!” I could even fathom what he had just said. It felt like my entire was over! I had so much planned for the year! I wanted to get married with the man that probably will not like me anymore after all this time apart. I was freaking out so much I started to think I might pass out! I had to tell myself that it can’t last that long! I mean how bad can it possibly be?
One month passed Okay, it should be over soon. And then I can see Nick and continue my life.
Two months passed I am starting to loose that optimism I once had. I mean, I have barely heard from my boyfriend and I don’t even know if he still likes me. Not to mention the fact that the virus is seemingly getting worse!
Three months passed This is horrible! I don’t see an end in sight! And I am pretty sure my love life fell off a cliff!
Four months passed I have never felt time go by slower! I really miss all my family and Nick. I felt like a sad blob! That was until I heard a knock on the door for the first time in forever. I could not believe my eyes when I saw... NICK! I really wanted to hug him, but I knew I couldn’t. He was in a mask and six feet away but it was still the best thing that had happened in months! We sat down on two chairs on the front porch and talked for a while. When we were saying goodbye he got down on one knee and said, “Elsa, I love you so much and spending so much time apart was horrible! You are truly the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don’t want you to spend any of are time apart thinking I don’t love you! Because I love you like crazy and this is my way of showing you! So, Elsa Joy Winters, will you please make me the happiest man alive and marry me?” “YES, YES, YES!” I said as I ran up to him and gave him a hug! (I think hugging your fiancé is allowed😉) Long story short, we got married and are as happy as can be now that the coronavirus has cleared up a lot! So, that is the story of my lockdown love!
“Hey guys, I have an idea! Guys! Are any of you even listening?”
“No offense Kelsey, but whenever you say you have an idea we stop listening.” Kelsey’s big brother said.
“So every second? Because you like never listen.”
“Good point” (John looks back down at his phone)
“Seriously?!?! (Sighs) Fine. I will go suggest the idea to mom and dad.”
It was not long before Kelsey came back down with her mom and her dad.
“Phones! Now! Put them in the basket!” Kelsey’s dad said as he held out a basket.
“Uh... what’s going on?” John said.
“Family game night is what’s going on and no phones are allowed! #bonding time!” Kelsey said with a grin on her face.
“No! No, no, no! Don’t you remember the last family game night?!?!?!?”
“Yeah, it wasn’t that bad!”
“The police came!”
“Only for a few minutes.”
“Seriously?!?!?”
“Let’s just try it!”
“(Sighs) What game do you want to play anyway?”
“Uno!”
“No.”
“Jenga!”
“No.”
“Charades?”
“No.”
“Why did you just say no to every game I wanted to play?”
“Uh... because that is my way of saying no to game night!”
“Well to bad! I have decided on apples to apples! How could that go wrong?”
“Well, if our family is playing it we will answer that.”
Kelsey glared at John and went to go get the game.
“Alright, I will pick the category first. Cute, adorable and sweet.” Kelsey said.
“Oh! I have a good one!” Kelsey’s mom said.
“Me too!” Kelsey’s dad said.
“Aright, give me your cards. Let see, babies, puppies, baby chicks, and Jimminy cricket? . Um... well definitely not Jimminy! I think... puppies.”
“What are you serious! Puppies are not cuter than babies!” Kelsey’s mom said.
“I don’t know... I... um”
“Why do you think Jimminy cricket is a bad one? He is a talking cricket! That’s adorable!” Kelsey’s younger brother named, Loyd.
“Well um...”
“Told you.” John said.
“Yeah. We are waaaaaayyyyyy to competitive.” Kelsey said.
“Guys, guys. Come on. Let’s just, move on.” Kelsey said.
“I hope by move on you mean stop playing this game.” John said.
“Sure. Let’s play... knockout basketball. Outside.”
“This should go well.” John said sarcastically.
It only took five minutes of knockout before someone was actually knocked out.
“So Kelsey, let’s recap the night. You said that we should do a game night, I said no, but you did it anyway and now we are in the emergency room.” John said.
Dazed, Kelsey said, “That sounds about right.”
“I have said it once and I will say it again, no. more. game nights!”
“Yup”
Still today, people fight and drama starts
Still today, there is anger in the world
Still today, there is fear everywhere
Still today, there is sadness and tears
Still today, there is gossip and pain
Still today, I sit on my window seal and sadly look out
Still today, the song of the birds can be heard outside the window
Still today, there is peace.
He is arriving I hope his trip was thriving
He is coming home We will do lots together Maybe we’ll visit Anna Or maybe we’ll visit Heather
He is returning Coming home from his learning
He is headed back I am sure about that
I can’t wait to see him And give him a hug I truly love my brother My brother named, Doug
“Wow! I can’t believe! Not a single fish!” My brother said as he starred in to the water with a frown on his face.
“I told you! I’ll collect my winning now.” I said with a grin on my face.
Now I am sure your wondering why I said I’ll collect my winnings for my brother not catching a fish so, I’ll tell you. It all started around dinner last night. It was are first night in Alaska and me and my brother went out to explore a little.
“Woah! Look at this fishing pier!” My brother said as he ran over to see it.
I looked over the edge and said, “I doubt there are any fish.”
“Really? Want to make a bet? I bet if I come out here with a fishing pole tomorrow I could catch a fish in an hour.” My brother said with a grin on his face.
“Make it two hours,” I said, confident that I would win.
“Okay, 20 dollars to the winner?” My brother said with that same old grin on his face.
“Deal,” I said as I shook my brother’s hand.
We headed back to the campsite for dinner. I couldn’t help but think that I might be ripping my brother off, but I was to distracted by dinner to do something about it. Before I knew it we were headed out to the fishing pier. I wasn’t even thinking about the bet, I was thinking about the fact that it was -10°.
“Let’s call this off and go home, I think I am going to get frostbite!” I said as I stood there practically frozen.
“I will give you 10 dollars just to stay here with me!” My brother said with that sweet smile on his face. So I gave in and stayed. After a little, it warmed up and I was getting really happy as we neared 2 hours.
“Wow! Not a single fish!” — And that is the whole scoop and the reason I am thirty dollars richer!
The end.
