In the wake of the glow, he saw the figure; It was the trace of a serpent. No, it was an outline of a dragon. Beams and logs smoldered all around him, cruelly straining his vision. He choked. He gagged. He was struggling. The smoke was dense, but he managed to stand. As he looked on, his life’s work melt before him: a library of all the worlds knowledge.
Snarling, hissing, vicious bird in the sky, Did we anger you by burning your nest? Is that why you heaved the flames into your angry lungs, And swallowed heat into your belly, So that everytime you spoke it would be in our smouldering tongue? Because it seems, The only language we understand, Is that which is born from vengeance and destruction.
Fire breather, wind seeker, You and your brothers were not born monsters, In the beginning, Your only purposes were to churn the air into clouds, And soothe this broken world with your cradle songs.
We were the ones who gave you your fire, It was us who made you this way.
It rose from the fiery volcano It’s scales, like shiny amour plates The dragon of Ethos mountain Has come to lay the humans to waste
They ride away on their puny horses Their children run from their little shire The Dragon looks down with gleaming eyes And sets the whole damn place on fire
The red beast from the gates of hades Block out the sun with her giant wings The helpless farmers shoot wooden arrows They bounce off with barley a sting
This Dragon has been dormant for long She awakens to consume her fill She seeks revenge on her captors heads These people of Centerville
From corner to corner across the land She burns it all to ash on the ground Then she soars high about the landscape To take one last good look around
Satisfied with her rampage beneath She sets her course for Tombstone Hill Where buried beneath wood and stones Is her bigger sister to help her kill
Together they will rule this world Humans will bow to their commands No longer will people call this home From now on it’s The Dragons Land

The fire burned The earth torn Lava bubbles As the the ground burned The earth was split
We did not believe Till they flew from the ground Once lost A myth in time Burning with anger
Scorched by the earth Held in chains Crying in pain Freed by dreams To burn again
Now we believe As the world burns Wings are hot Hundreds fly Humans lost Now held in time
2168 Our world is in dire need of hope, we have failed the surface of our world, the sky’s and space beyond offered no hope so we turned to the earth and dug deep into a world unlike any other. I am known as the path builder, I lead small mining crews deep in to unexplored territory mapping out routes for the bigger teams to come and carve out resources. I and my team are now six months into our journey, deeper into the earth than any have ever been. No daylight, no real air, nothing but the seven of us and what we can carry on our backs. Hacking and crawling through the darkness. The stuff we’ve seen, I hardly know how to describe it all. Of course some of it has been seen before, nearer the surface, but on a much smaller scale. Down here everything is massive and seemingly more defined. For my companions and I the horror started two days ago. We had just navigated a very small, natural passage. After a good few hours our path opened up before us and so, eventually we stepped out into one of the biggest spaces I have ever seen. To call it a huge cavern of giant proportions would be a massive understatement. This was a place unlike any other, we were agreed on that as soon as we entered. This was a new world so different to our own but somehow it existed underneath us. To list everything we saw would take forever and I really haven’t the time. Two things which I must quickly explain to you though are the rocks. Rocks that spontaneously burst in to flames, disintegrated in a cloud of smoke, to be replaced by giant, rat sized beetle like creatures, devouring anything in their path, including two of my teammates. The other are lizard like creatures as big as the mansions left from the past. They fly and breath fire. They are. And I cannot believe I am writing this down, let alone thinking it. They are dragons. The dragons did for the rest of my team. Now it’s just me, cowering in a small cave. Trying to build my nerve to leave, to run, get back to the real world. If I don’t make it I hope someone finds this and believes my words
It’s been a few weeks and I’ve been making good progress on my escape. I have to turn back now and face my fate. I can not carry on. Behind me for the past few days I have heard noises, shuffling and distorted sounds. I am sure I am being followed. Deep within me I know I can not let whatever is behind me get to the surface. This is my goodbye.
Fiery. Full of heat, full of warmth. Diary. Full of defeat & tears after the storm. Write them down, burn them all. Make no sound, build up that wall. You appear fierce. Stay calm as the pain it does pierce. No one knows inside you’re secretly fighting your fears. Until the one day you switch up the gears. Blow off the steam and spit your fire. It’s built up, happy is all you desire. Now you’re in the wrong & of course, You were the bad guy all along. Dragon breath.
