today, the son’s a giant ball of fire, Spilling golden liquid from the sky, It’s warm love drips like rain, As we soak it in, It spreads through us like wildfire, Settling lazily and happily, In our bones.
On days like this, So beautiful and Bright, I feel your love the most. Hand in hand forever, Clean and sober, Wild and free.
As we stroll beneath the cloud streaked blue, The world around us bursts with life, The birds sing their loving serenade, I smile and smell the pretty pink rose, That you picked just for me.
The sound of city traffic, Mingles with our laughter. Every moment spent with you, Is a moment to forever be treasured.
Of all the beauty blooming, In the midst of spring, The true beauty lies in what we have. Wrapped in the warmth of the sun’s embrace, Shared dreams and possibilities, And the promise of a future together.
Through the highs and lows, In sunshine and in rain, I'll hold onto this day, Where the sun's golden rays, Illuminate our love, And as days go by, and seasons pass, I’ll always remember us this way.
Spring
Oh the weather just seems so perfect
The rain pats down the window
Pastel colors make their mark
Bunnies run through the fields
Flowers sprout, breaking free of the ground
But not all is great
Thunder and lighting strike down trees
Floods seep through the windows
Pollen and allergies shut your eyes
Oh no, not all is so perfect in the spring
For there are secrets hidden
In the trees
The rain
The flowers
For everything that seems so perfect
Has a darker side too
I wouldn't mind it if you stayed Somewhere tucked behind a cloud For just a little longer Stretching and yawning With new life in your hands
What is new will surely bloom It doesn't have to be today
I wouldn't mind peeking out my window
And shaking my head at blankets of snow
Gifting me a valid reason
To cozy up beside the fireplace
With sketches and hot chocolate
And wild roaming dreams
Dreams of catching up with you In the latter half of May
Spring. A time for abusive fathers. And flowers. A time for increased crime. And newfound lovers.
Spring. Holds no memories for me. It is a short time between summer and winter. It brings up no past. I feel nothing towards spring.
Perhaps spring remembers me despite this. Perhaps spring has planned something special. Perhaps not. No matter how spring feels, I feel nothing. Ever. Never again.
The air races Gathering whispers and daydreams. We are alone. Isolated. Together.
Half an hour of freedom To exercise Means that they cross The street To avoid us.
The air races Blowing my hair upwards. Three layers seemed like a lot in the sun, But not enough in the shade.
The daffodils topple over. They are unwatched this year. Their golden crowns are beginning to fall, As we await the end of lockdown. As we wait for the wind to feel less sharp.
Like a coiled up Slinky Quivering with anticipation For Winter to bow out And cue me in Just one small nudge A soft breath to launch me Off the parapet Slooooooowly does it..... Then it’s off we go Wooooohooooo! Gathering momentum My heart’s singing My coils zinging Colours of tulips and daffodils and crocuses and blossom And new green shoots Every new step an explosion Of awe and wonder Of birds and butterflies and bees And new born lambs Can’t slow down....
Cue in Summer!
Spring, oh spring! It arrived and spread light O the blooming flowers O the tender leaves You make me happy Despite everything happening around Spring, oh spring! Waiting for you all year round Once you are here Dancing and lifting toes off the ground Though this time it’s different But you got some hope to the listless mind!
we are in a dark time a gloomy, scary, and troubling time hope has seemed to have been sucked out of the world through a vacuum and yet spring has not broken it’s promise it has shown up the weather has started to shift the flowers have begun to bloom the sky has started to turn to blue and the sun has begun to shine down on what seems like an endlessly dark world bringing hope and light with every ray of sun a reminder to all of us that darkness doesn’t have to last forever
In my dream I was outdoors My whole family was there All my friends The sun shining on our faces Our bodies strong.
In my dream the song Of the birds was the loudest of all It was all we could hear And so we joined in
The sky was so blue, carribean The sun was a lemon jolt that Left little marks in my vision Remaining when I closed my eyes; My own personal sunlight
In my dream we all held one another And the trees surrounding all held us And the sky was so high up And the air tasted like chocolate And it was all yellow and green and blue
And suddenly, around us, Flowers began to bloom Shy whites, boisterous purples Blushing pinks, and tiny giggling flecks of yellow.
I woke up happier than I'd felt in years Rising up, free and easy, on that day. Lighter than the air. The sun was shining bright that day And just for one minute, I could hear birds chirping outside my window.
