"Oh, my, God! I'm kissing Troy Fielding!"
was the only thought running through my head. I was currently hanging out behind the football field bleachers, making out with the hottest boy in the school. If only you knew just how I felt, you wouldn't roll your eyes when I'd say this was truly magical.
My friends told me that he was stocking me throughout the week, but at the time, I didn't want to believe them. And when he asked me out after lunch today, without a doubt, I totally skipped fifth period just to be alone with him. At first, I was worried about my mom finding out I skipped class, but I simply brushed it off as soon as we stepped outside.
Is this how rebellious people felt? If so, I didn't mind doing it again, if it meant that I'll be with Troy Fielding.
Feeling the sun warm up my back, the wind blow my hair, and our bodies pressed up against one another, I slowly came to the thought that today was "my day". Nothing but the sounds of birds around us made me feel a bit more comfortable with our current state, and I never wanted this to end. But like all hopes and dreams, they always end.
When the bell rang, announcing the end of fifth period, we pulled away and started heading back towards campus. I felt my face turn red with some embarrassment, knowing that my friends wanted me to spill everything in detail. But something told me that I didn't want this to end. After all, he was my first high school crush.
"Hey, Troy," I called, rushing to catch up with him. "What does this mean?"
"Huh?"
"For us," I quickly added. "What does this mean for us?"
Snorting, he shrugged his shoulder, a smirk placed onto his face. "It—It, doesn't mean anything. It was just a bet. I don't date freshman girls... I'll see you later, though. Bye."
Stopping in my tracks, I stared off at his retreating back with a devastated expression. I wanted to do nothing, but crawl in a hole and cry until I died. He wasn't even that into me, and I fell for it. I didn't know it would hurt me this much, but I never felt the same for the rest of that week.
"I was just a bet," the words leaving my mouth in a quivering whisper. Saying that made my face crumble, and I ran back behind the bleachers to cry. I never knew my love life would spiral into nothingness already.
And that was just the first ten minutes.
Andrew realised that he loved her from the moment she reached the counter. Those soft mahogany eyes, that were matched only by the hair cascading off her temples like twirling ribbons, paired perfectly with each of her rich scarlet curls, which appeared as if they had been individually soaked in a bath of ripe cherries. As she ordered her hazelnut latte, he noticed how the creases of her cheeks struggled to contain a smile, one so persistent that both neatly succumbed to form crescent shaped dimples either side of her lips. She looked up, he did too, and for one brief moment their eyes were entwined.
They say that the average human heart beats over three billion times in a lifetime; but Andrew could have sworn that his thumped a trillion times when they first met. And that was just the first ten minutes!

Gusts of wind whipped by Sylvia. Her long, red hair getting tangled as she watched her friends fly by. Her pointed ears turning red from the chill the wind brought.
Removing her googles, Sylvia saw her friends panting in front of her. Much shorter and smaller was her two friends, Fiona and Riles. Fiona had pink hair and freckles as Riles had short brown hair and a scar over his eye. Sylvia was smiling until she saw the panic in their eyes. “Fiona, what’s wrong?”
She was much more stable when she panicked. Her hooves stomped the grass beneath her as she hopped. “Dragons! There’s dragons!” Sylvia looked to where the Satyr pointed. “She’s right! Powerful too!” Sylvia gripped her sword and marched around the hill they ran to. Her crimson red eyes scanned the area, two people sat.
“I see no dragons here, Fiona.”
Fiona pointed at the two people as Riles sat next to Sylvia. “There. Those two are the dragons.” Roles nodded with a gulp. “Yeah. I can see their aura and I saw their tails.” Sylvia squares her shoulders, walking down the hill side. Soon she smelt the smokey air, they were dragons. “Excuse me.”
The two looked up. One had a red handkerchief covering their mouth, lavender eyes, and white hair. The other bulky with long black hair and scars. Sylvia gripped the hilt of her sword as she saw their pupils slit due to the glaring sun. “Yes miss?” The bulky one said. He was maybe two time her height, she shuddered. “Just wondering what two fellows like you are doing out here.”
With a glance to the white haired male he smirked. “Just traveling. A family meeting just that way. My partner Maylan,” Sylvia looked to see Maylan remove his handkerchief to smile, “needed some rest. I’m Quill by the way.”
Maylan watched Sylvia look away as he slinked behind her. His smile growing as he reached to pickpocket her. The white haired dragon couldn’t help, but get excited. His horns began to show as his body shifted. His eyes shifting towards Quill.
Quill was telling a story. “And that was just the first 10 minutes.” Sylvia laughed along. Her eyes caught a familiar sparkle. It was Riles. He was pointing behind the woman’s back. Sylvia grabbed her sword and pointed it behind herself.
“Thieves. You two are thieves.” Quill growled at Sylvia. “Not thieves.” Sylvia scoffed.
“Then what?”
“Just two dragons who need help.”
Sylvia saw Maylan slink under the sword to stand next to Quill. “Then there is a better way to obtain cash. Why are you guys doing this anyway?” The two huffed offering the knight a seat. They told their story. Fiona and Riles felt bad about their tattling.
“I’m sorry to hear that your clan has left you, but you won’t be as lucky to have a knight like this to steal from. Join my party.” Sylvia smirked offering a bag of gold and her hand.
The runners were nervously stretching. Nobody talked. Then, Bill said “I’m totally gonna lose.” Everyone gathered up to the starting line. 3... 2... 1... go! Bill suddenly fell. “Ouch!” Then, he realized nobody was there. He was first! He got up and ran as hard as he can. He ran so fast, he finished! And that was just the first ten minutes.
I woke up to the Sun glaring through my window. I looked at my clock 7-20 A.M. it read. I rolled over to see my little brother standing in my doorway. "What are you doing Tom?" I asked rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. "I need to talk to you." He said, "Alright about what?" I said patting my bed in a sign to come sit. "Sissy I'm scared." Now I knew something was wrong my 13-year-old brother almost never called me sissy anymore. "What is the matter," I asked pulling him closer to me. He bit his lip nervously. "Promise you won't tell." He asked. "Of course I won't I'm your big sister you can tell me anything." He nodded and seemed to steel himself. "Fay I think I'm gay." I was confused why was he scared about that. "Why are you scared?" I asked. "People will judge me Fay and I don't know what I'll do if I lose everyone." "Oh, Tommy you won't lose everyone." "Even if you lose all your friends which if there true friends you won't but even if you do you'll still have me you'll always have me." "Really?" He asked with tears in his eyes. "Of course." "Thanks, sissy." He said and gave me one of the biggest smiles ever. "Any time," I said ruffling his hair. "Hey stop that." I smiled and pulled him into a hug. I looked at my clock to see that it now read 7-30 A.M. That was only ten minutes of what it took to be a big sister but I wouldn't change it for the world. .
