One eve’ning silent as the sea,
My father sang the song
Of Hiawatha,
To the swelling rhythm
of the Gryllidae;
At a point— I do declare—
So fleeting as the Gryllidae;
When all was quiet
In the poor man’s way;
Then I played on mossy
Sodden logs;
Garb in faded carrhartt;
thin and boney
As the leafless birch;
So I ran shoeless and singing;
Shouting in the graces of the sun
The song of Hiawatha...
There’s something about the gentle breeze that grazes my skin,
The skittering leaves that move through the wind,
And the smiling sun softly warming me up,
That takes me back to the good times.
The times when family was just a door away,
When hot showers could last all day,
And having a meal simply required a walk down the stairs.
But these refreshing times in the great outdoors,
Also remind me t...
In a trailer park, among the trees,
Honeysuckle scent drifting on the breeze.
Childhood days, forever cherished,
In memories, they've never perished.
Running wild, under the sun's warm glow,
On the trampoline, we'd bounce and go.
Water hose fights, laughter in the air,
Simpler times, no worry or care.
Climbing trees, with sandwiches in tow,
Daddy's ponytail, his rock CDs would flow.

I can’t drive down Main Street
Without passing our shadows.
Fragmented figures of fiction
Who carry on carelessly,
Tripping over their ignorance,
Forgetting to be wary of time,
Thinking they will run readily
Into the past - soon enough.
Instead, they linger - lively and luminous,
Leering and choking on their laughter,
While I gaze on longingly,
Wishing to steal their moments away.
And to be so na...
Waking up early in the morning to watch cartoons
Getting ready for school
Watching commercials about toys and products we want
Playing outside all day using our imagination
No phones, no social media, just having fun
Life back then was fun and less stressful
Now we’re adults and life isn’t as fun as it once was when we were children
I’d do anything to go back to that time...
Feeling nostalgic
for a childhood I never had
A feeling of belonging
That was always out of grasp
Feeling homesick
For a place I've never been
Maybe I'll get there someday
If someone lets me in
Feeling lovesick
For a love that wasn't true
Feeling guilty
When I had nothing left to do
Feeling lonely
But I push everyone away
Feeling hopeless
But waiting for better days...
Take me back to the better days,
Those where I would play outside all day.
I miss the feeling of having no stress,
Now I feel like my life is a mess,
Waking up everyday to a melodic song in play.
I can never imagine a better type of day,
My younger self was always feeling her best,
With pure feelings of euphoria and inner happiness....
Dear Lululemon
Why are your clothes so expensive?
118 bucks for a scuba?
It’s comfortable sure,
But I heard the dupes were good too
And your align leggings
What’s so good about those?
That you have to drain everyone’s savings
You seem quite successful already
So why don’t you cut the price down
Like, a lot
Because I could really use more athletic wear
And I see you too Dior
That lip oil
Is so tin...
I wish I was born in the eighties
When life was more relaxed
Nothing was uptight and crazy
And kids just played with knickknacks
I wish I was born in the eighties
When no one had a phone
Or mobile devices
We were simply on our own!
I wish I was born in the eighties
When kids would play ‘till the night
Yeah, sure, there was less safety
But at least we really lived our lives
I wish I was born in ...
