POEM STARTER
Confession.
Write a poem, with a set structure, which centres around the theme of confession.
Confession Is Scary.
Confession is scary;
It’s too glamorized,
By those who are brave enough,
Reactions seem worse;
Not all arms spread out lovingly,
Not all hands comfort jitters,
The aftermath seems troubling,
To those left to fend in this world-
I’ve heard horror stories,
Where religion and hate controls,
Snatches the glasses off of eyes,
Makes people despise things through blur,
Makes them think they’re nothing more,
Than a sinful bug beneath their feet,
A loved one they can’t see, defeat,
Certainty of this burns,
My bravery sits itself in an urn;
I’ll keep pushing my time back,
I’ll stay locked in this closet,
And watch everyone leave it,
As I confess to myself that confession is scary.
