vent-ish…
Talking used to be my forte,
I used to chatter on and on again.
But to my very much dismay,
the summer had to begin.

Nobody understands,
the voice that faded away.
Or the face that hides behind strands
of hair because she hates to be on display.
Her eyes hate to meet another pair;
her voice is broken and faint.
She’s hidden behind blonde hair,
while her heart is a fallen saint.
She always has a voice in her head,
but it’s now louder than ever before.
And, it’s because no words have been said,
you can always overshadow
something that isn’t there.
What they serve in this place,
is all lies and ways to break a heart.
They’ll call you a liar, a disgrace,
when all you did was play a part.
She knows the menu
like the back of her hand;
she chose to close her mouth instead
because closed mouths don’t get fed.
Three people died,
one girl cried.
One boy stole a heart,
one girl stood apart
because
one boy stole a heart
and led her personality
to the menu to restart.
Summer goes just like that.
Boy who broke her heart.
Friend that lost her mind.
Friend that lost his life.
Friend that lost connection.
No wonder she closed her mouth.
No one likes what they’re offering.
