Apologies
Does she apologize too often? Does she act like she wants to say something, then laughs it off and says it’s nothing? Does she ask stuff repeatedly, but gives you no reason behind her worries? She’s like a book character, a bad past with haunting terrors.
But she loves you.
She’s your perfect lady, little baby, your world, the stars are in her eyes. She holds your heart so gently, apologizing at the smallest things. She’s hurt, wounded. But she won’t let you know she paints on a pretty smile each morning. She’s sad, but she’s smiling. She’s hurt, but she’s walking. She cares too much to see you hurt, she’s planning her steps carefully.
The only time she’ll hurt you is when she feels your heart slipping from her grip. Afraid it’ll shatter, she digs her nails in it, pulling it closer, afraid she’ll drop it.
Because she loves you.
