The Sun?
“Do you think the Sun gets lonely up there?”
A question
A strange, **P E C U I L A R **
Question
**P E R H A P S**, we’ll say,
The Sun does get lonely
Up there in that dark void
But it has its brothers and sisters
It has** F A M I L Y**
But let’s **P R E T E N D**
That the Sun’s siblings
Are horrible
That they ignore and shun it
**P E R H A P S**, we’ll say
That the Sun does get lonely
Now, that we know how it’s treated
But it has the planets
It has **F R I E N D S**
But let’s** P R E T E N D**
That these are disloyal friends
Who talk about it
Behind its back
**P E R H A P S**, we’ll say, once more
That the Sun does get lonely
Now that we know it has no friends
No one really to care
But it has the F R O S T
But let’s** P R E T E—**
**NO WE WILL NOT**
The **C O L D**, _frosty_ void of the universe
Is **P E A C E**! It is **L I F E**!
It is that one place, that _frosty_, icy
**C O L D**
Where the Sun is truly **F R E E**
**FREEDOM IS A WORD WASTED**
**SO YES! THE SUN IS ALONE, BUT NOT**
**EVER, ****_EVER_**** LONELY**
so go away. leave it be. please…leave it be.
